Description said "stainless steel" but I expected then to be aluminum. Surprise--they are stainless stell and very well made!

I like the cleat, but the largest size rope is going to be 5mm or so. I tried 3 ropes. One 6mm which would not bite, a 5mm (measures 4.5mm) it bites good, and lastly paracord which will bite but you have to be very deliberate and put it deep in the cleat. I really want to use this cleat with 6mm coord for lifting and lowering but it just doesn't quite work with the 6mm rope.

I wanted to write a review because the quality of these is flawless. They are made of really beautiful stainless steel and are very solid. I’m fact, my only complaint is that, for my needs, they are too nice! They have a fair amount of weight to them, and I planned to install them in a small sabot. As something I have to lift up onto the car and carry to the water, I couldn’t justify adding that much weight for some cleats. I ended up buying plastic ones for my needs, but I love the quality of the metal ones.
