It was a little hard to get to work the first time. Once we got it figured out it worked better. I think it could have worked even better than it does, but it is great for beginners. I think it is worth the money for a starter mic. The sound quality is okay. great for kids.

It’s a good microphone but it gets lose easy and the screws that support wore out and fell out.The biggest disappointment is I tried to email them on Amazon and they ha e not answered for weeks. Do not buy this if you want support from them.

I have been toying with the idea of starting a YouTube channel, and knowing I would need a decent mic, when I saw this one, I went ahead and ordered it to give it a try. Here are my thoughts.- Compatibility. I tested this mic with both a newer Acer laptop running Windows 11, and an older HP ProDesk desktop running LInux Mint 20.3. It worked fine with the Windows laptop, and while I could see the mic and hear my voice via the headphone monitor passthrough, I could not get Audacity on Linux to record without crashing. This is likely an issue with my setup and not with the mic, but there do not appear to be any stand alone drivers available for this mic.- Sound quality. I am happy with the quality of this mic. The cardoid mic is reasonably sensitive but does require being fairly close to the mic for best results. The included foam windscreen is sufficient but it does still pop if you hit it lots of air when very close. I'd recommend trying to keep this mic about 3-4 inches from your mouth when recording. The mic does include a built-in "noise cancellation" feature which seems to work, but my impression was that due to the additional processing and resulting delay, your audio may be slightly clipped if you have this enabled. It might be good for some situations, but as a rule, I wouldn't trust any "built-in" quality enhancement on any audio device. (Noise reduction or effects should always be done in post processing with good audio hardware or software after the fact. Let the mic be just a mic.)- XLR vs USB. The mic comes with connections for both USB and XLR. For quick and dirty setups, the USB is absolutely fine. The USB powers the LED lighting, and appears to enable the "pass through" monitoring volume via the 1/8" (3.5mm) headphone jack, as well as the noise cancellation and push button mute features. The mic does work as expected via the standard XLR, though it does not power the LED lighting, even with "phantom power" via XLR, as far as I can tell. (I tested the XLR functionality with IXTECH's 4-channel mixer. With the 48V switch enabled, the mic LEDs were not on.)- Monitoring via built-in headphone jack. This worked but I did notice some crackles and pops when monitoring via the built-in 1/8" jack. The pops did not appear to be in the recorded audio, just in the headphones when connected via the jack. As noted above, if you can, use your computer or audio mixer as the output for headphone monitors whenever possible.- LED lighting. The multi-color LED lighting ring around the mic constantly and slowly cycles through the rainbow of colors adding an attractive "bling" which may be desired for video recording. Just know that, as noted above, the LEDs only work when powered using USB. Note: You CAN connect the mic via XLR and still power the LEDs with a supplemental USB, but if you do this, I recommend using a USB cable NOT plugged into your computer or audio input destination (i.e. directly to a charger/stand-alone power source) to avoid confusion as to the correct input source when working through a sound mixer with a PC. I didn't test recording via XLR while USB powered, but note that any of the digital features (noise reduction, mute, etc.) may still affect your recording when USB power is active, but not selected as the direct input.- The base. A decent stand is provided with the mic that is good for most desks, but unless you get lucky, you may still want a standalone arm to mount the mic to in order to provide the most flexibility.I am very happy with this mic as a basic starter mic for podcasting or YouTube, Twitch etc.

I have tested both the XLR and the USB functionality on this microphone. I do feel the physical XLR cable into an audio interface gives a better overall sound out of the box. That being said, the USB does sound good and with some tweaking, EQ, compression, could sound great for podcasts or other things as well. I think it just needs a little more help than just going out analog xlr cables.Like other reviewers have stated, the limited range of motion on the mount is a little weird but not a deal breaker. Overall if you are looking for a budget USB/XLR mic for podcasting or other needs, this would suit you just fine and is way cheaper than something like a SM7b.

I bought this mic for streaming and recording for video projects. It was simple to follow the instructions to set up even for this guy who has never done this before. I just know all the streamers I watch always say #1 thing to buy is a good mic, everything else can come later. So I chose this one because my budget is limited, and I am quite happy that I did.Now I have only had this out of the box for about a week now, and I have run both test streams and recorded some audio and so far I like the way it all sounds. I live in a downtown area so securing complete silence to record is an impossible dream. But this mic has been doing a good job of picking up my voice and limiting to eliminating the background. I mean fire station across from me; don't expect any equipment to ignore that.In brief: Attractive, easy to set up, good voice capture in less than ideal local conditions, and very well priced for beginners on a budget.

It is still a great microphone for speaking tho when I try the noise cancellation for any asmr like typing or marker sounds even though the noise cancellation is on I still hear buzzing noises I would say I would highly recommend this microphone for speaking but if you want a microphone for ASMR tho get the Blue Yeti one although the Blue Yeti one does not have any noise cancellation but yeah kinda of dissappointed in this microphone but I will still defenetliy use it for speaking tho :)
