YES, FINALLY A PRODUCT THAT WORK ON THIS POWER-HUNGRY UNIT, I AM TALKING ABOUT PLUGING USB TO WATCH MOVIE AND CHARGING AT THE SAMETIME WITHOUT USING A PC ALSO PLAYING XBOX DIRECTLY AND CHARGING WITHOUT A PC. NOTE TO USED THIS ON QUEST 3 YOU NEED TO BE ON THE DEVELOPER MODE, ALSO YOU HAVE TO SIDELOAD THE CAMERA APP TO YOUR QUEST, THIS IS GOOD NEWS BECAUSE ALL THE OTHER STUFF I TRY FOR THE QUEST 3 DID'NT WORK BUT THIS LITTLE UNIT WORK GREAT.IT SUPPORTE 40-WATT USB C I'M USING MY 20 WATT,I HOPE THIS HELP SOME OF YOU WITH A QWEST 3,I'M GOING TO FINDOUT WHAT ELSE I CAN DO WITH THIS.

the video, even selecting the appropriate settings in the app did not transmit the video. instead i got coloured bars flashing in and out. i can’t tell if it’s defective or simply incompatible with the use i need.it was bought for its ability to connect charger, which is a key feature for using your quest as a gaming monitor. not good for this application.

I was able to capture HDMI output from a Nintendo Switch on both my iPad and Macbook, but when I connected the PS4 all I got was flashing test pattern bars. I put the PS4 in safe mode as well and it still didn't work

This is a review of the j5create Video Capture Card. The instructions are not very helpful. Basically the instructions contain drawings of three ways to use this capture card. Half of the arrows do not point in the direction of the data/information flow. I was going for the Live streaming use of the card. I used the OBS software which I was using for a simpler capture card. I set up the j5create card in the OBS software in the same way that I had set up my other capture card. I was able to get the video to display in the OBS software but was having problems with the audio. I shut everything down for the night. The next day, I continued but the OBS software did not bring up the video like it did the day earlier. After several tries, I finally went to the Device Manager. My old capture card would show up under the Camera grouping. The j5create card was not recognized by Windows and there was no Camera grouping in the device list. So yesterday the j5create card was recognized by Windows (because OBS displayed the video) but now Windows does not recognize the j5create card. I rebooted, plugged in and removed the card several times. Nothing would bring it up on the Device Manager Window. I give up and will return to my old capture card.

This is a great device if you want to create a mini docking station for your laptop. I have been using it as a USB hub and it has been working great for me for this purpose. Plug it into a USB C port to add a couple USB A ports to the laptop (such as for an external mouse and keyboard). It also has an HDMI out and will allow you to add an additional monitor really easily.It also passes power through the USB ports, so you can plug it into a powered USB C port on your computer/laptop, or you can plug it into a wall power adapter.I have not been able to test the video capture capabilities of this device, but if it is like the other features, it should work just fine.

I do not have prior experience with capture cards, nor have I tested out the many other ways to utilize this, but I just desperately needed to digitalize my old video footage from my children’s childhood, and it’s emergency status as some of the tapes have degraded already. This might contribute to my fondness of the product, but I would give it 5 hearts, if I could. But I will update my review in the future I ever decide to use more of it’s capabilities in helping to live stream, or if my son does the same with his gaming.

So maybe I am not using this the right way or maybe it's that I don't see a difference from other multi-port USB and HDMI devices. I have connected to this an external monitor, so I have a laptop and 32inch monitor, a Jabra speaker, and a camera. All devices are working well, and the quality seems fine. Again, not sure what separates from other devices but that could be my lack of knowledge in using these devices.
