I bought to replace manual pump I used last year to change transmission and engine oils in my boat. I warmed engine (Yanmar diesel) and transmission (BW Velvet Drive). Despite many attempts I was unable to pump either. Tried priming to no avail. Went back manual to pump. Worked but slow and tiring! I don’t recommend for either engine or transmission oil change.

Worked as expected. Pumped out using a cordless drill, 30 gallons old diesel form an in bilge sailboat diesel tank. Rise of about 3 feet with included hoses.

The pump did not work at all.I tried to lift oil out of an outboard motor, but it would not move the oil.Primed the pump with oilFinally tested it in a bucket of old oil. It would not lift more than an inch, even when when primed with oilI took it apart and found no sign of damage. My best guess is that the manufacturing tolerances are too highThere are many similar pumps on the market. I picked this one (despite very high price) hoping that by paying, and because of the Jabsco name, It would be good quality.

I got this to do the oil changes on our diesel pusher motorhome with a rear radiator. The oil filler port is awkwardly located above the radiator. Our Cummins takes 4 gallons of oil. I used to cobble together a funnel, 1” PVC pipe extension, and a flexible hose and laid it on top of the open rear engine access cover to get the oil into the engine. As you can imagine, there’s a high chance of making a mess using this method and you have to stand on a stool, lift the gallon jugs of oil above your shoulders, and carefully pour it in and not overwhelm the allowable flow in the ghetto funnel extension. I also kept this messy contraption in our rig’s basement just in case we needed to add oil while on the road.I did this for the last 3 years and figured there had to be a better way.Queue this drill-powered pump. I used it for the first time this last weekend while performing our rig’s annual service and it worked really well with one caveat. I already read some reviews mentioning how the included green hose is too flexible and will collapse if used as the suction tube with relatively high viscosity fluids like 15W-40 oil in relatively cool ambient temps. I did use the included green hose on the discharge side of the pump.I had some extra 1/2” ID thick wall vinyl tubing laying around so I used that for the suction side. The ambient temp was around 60°F when I pumped the 4 gallons of oil. I kept my 20V cordless drill on a medium speed and everything worked great. I didn’t keep time, but I was able to get all 4 gallons into the oil filler port in what seemed like minutes. What’s even better is that I didn’t worry if I was going to make a mess.I can’t speak to the longevity of this tool as I don’t foresee using it a lot—hopefully just once a year—but, at its price point, I can’t complain.I got a 1/2” barbed union to connect the suction and discharge hoses together and cooled everything up so that it fits in a fairly small plastic bin so I can throw it in our rig’s basement.

I paid over $80 with taxes for this pump. I think that is way too steep for what you're getting. I would bet that one of the $20 ones works the exact same

I have no complaints yet. Good quality, pumps my diesel from the big heavy gas cans into the tank on my boat. Emtied my dinghy of rain water in a matter of minutes. Nothing but praise for this gizmo so far. Have only used it twice and holding up so far. Will see how long it lasts.

I am a heavy equipment mechanic. Today I used this pump coupled to my Milwaukee fuel m18 drill. I pumped approximately 10 gallons of 75w-90 gear oil, 4 gallons of 10w transmission oil, and 30 gallons of 46 hydraulic oil. It worked flawlessly. I hooked the inlet to a pipe rather than a hose. For what I was doing it wanted to collapse the hose on the suction side. With the pipe it didn't skip a beat. That's 44 gallons of oil. It saved me a ton of time and the strain of using a hand pump. The biggest thing is it allows you to be mobile. No wires or air hoses.

I bought this pump because I wanted to pump the water out of my basement sump since my primary sump pump quit working. My battery backup pump took over and was running like a champ. However, the battery backup pump is located much higher in the sump and I did not want to overload it with water removal due to recent heavy rain storms. Since I still had power, I was not worried about running down the battery since it was running on house current. I knew that the sump had a lot of water in it that I could see but I suspected that the tubing around the house's foundation must be full of water as well since the water level was above the tubes that empty into the sump. Anyhow, I wanted to see if I could remove the accumulated water and get the water level down to next to nothing. I ordered this drill pump after reading many reviews and decided to give it a try. From the moment I hooked it up to my variable speed electric drill I knew that I had hit a home run. This Jabsco really performed without priming and pumped exceptionally well.. I spent perhaps 15 minutes of continuous pumping and still did not get all the water out of my sump. I wanted my drill to cool down before I resumed pumping. Anyhow, this lilttle marvel did what I hoped it would. I will keep it handy for my next emergency--assuming I have power. My Zoeller primary pump quit working and I will try to replace just the switch and see if that cures the problem. For my purpose, this pump deserves 5+ stars.

I have used this 2 times now. Once to empty the water out of a huge ice chest that was too heavy for one person to carry and couldn't just dump the water where it was located and 2nd time was to siphon the water out of clogged sink. Was able to push the included thin vaccum hose all the way down into the drain trap and suction the water out which made the job MUCH quicker and easier. Very handy unique tool to have around. Have used much more than I thought I would. Highly recommend. Good quality, seems like it will last a long time. Nice attachments too.

I bought this based on good reviews here. It was purchased to transfer water from containers into my camper water tank. The first time I used it, it worked fine, The second time, it started to smoke and then with a loud pop it was dead. I really expected more....I would NOT recommend this product. With the cost of the water hose extensions, I was out over $55.00 for one use.
