Product Description

Noguchi Kumataro
Noguchi Kumataro

Our company, Noguchi Kumataro Tea Garden (Noguchitokutarosyoten Co., Ltd.), was founded in 1874 in Sashima-gun, Ibaraki Prefecture by Kumataro Noguchi, the first generation of tea growers, and we are now in our fifth generation.

Sashima-gun, Ibaraki Prefecture, has long flourished as a tea production area in the northern part of Japan, and its tea is now called Sashima-cha. Sashima-cha became the first Japanese tea exported to the United States in 1859 through negotiations with Townsend Harris, the first U.S. Consul General in Japan.

We will create a new tea culture while carefully preserving the traditions and techniques that have been cultivated over five generations.

This is a beautifully made tea canister. I have two now and they are wonderful. The quality of work is obvious. The seller we quick to ship and packaged very very well. I highly recommend both!

This is exactly what I needed. It is not too large. I use for loose and bagged tea to keep as fresh as possible. I also purchased another in a different color.

I have six of these canisters, all different patterns, and I find they keep my loose tea leaves fresh. I order large bags of loose tea and fill the canisters from the bags for easier use. This pattern is as beautiful as the picture. I love it.
