Our company, Noguchi Kumataro Tea Garden (Noguchitokutarosyoten Co., Ltd.), was founded in 1874 in Sashima-gun, Ibaraki Prefecture by Kumataro Noguchi, the first generation of tea growers, and we are now in our fifth generation.
Sashima-gun, Ibaraki Prefecture, has long flourished as a tea production area in the northern part of Japan, and its tea is now called Sashima-cha. Sashima-cha became the first Japanese tea exported to the United States in 1859 through negotiations with Townsend Harris, the first U.S. Consul General in Japan.
We will create a new tea culture while carefully preserving the traditions and techniques that have been cultivated over five generations.

It's really pretty and I like it but I don't like that smells strongly of Bath and Body Works lotion, which I do not like. Migraine inducing. If it weren't for the smell, I would definitely give it 5 stars.Update: I have let it air out, open, on my counter since I received it and the smell has not gone away. I bought this to store high quality loose leaf tea. I can't store my tea in a tin that smells strongly of perfume. I don't know if this was a returned item or what but it should not have been sent out like this. It is too high a price to pay for something I can't use.

I was very excited to receive this through the mail, I was mesmerized with the design, but when I turned it around I felt a large dent. I tried popping it back out but it wouldn’t budge. 2 Stars.

Bought this to keep my matcha powder fresh and wanted something I could leave on the counter that would look good. Green color matches matcha perfectly. Comes with a plastic lid that fits inside the canister. So double lid feature is great. Highly recommend

Two out of three tea canisters smelled strongly of incense, so completely unusable for tea unless I want floral scented long jjng.
