Blades need honing to create the proper edge before use. Great for plate tuning and finish work.

For the price, these finger planes work surprisingly well!

The plane is bronze coloured, and lacquered. Inconsistent shape. Sanded of the paint. Steel alloy of some sort underneath. Blade is OK after sharpening. Initial angle is wrong, to steep. After a lot of sanding and shaping, they work. Sole scratches easily.

Blade chipped! Supposed to be Brass but some cheap coated rubbish.Seller should be ashamed to sell this rubbish. If returning them wasn't such a pain they would be on back in the post for a refund Be warned if you buy these nasty pieces of rubbish!.

I understood up front that these are cheap junk, but hoped that with a little effort they could be made serviceable, at least for awhile. They're copper, not brass, and roughly made, but with a little effort to smooth the soles and sharpen the irons you can get some work out of them.

No idea what materials these are made from. The structure is quite soft and after some wear seems to be mostly copper. You will need to properly sharpen the blades.
