The sole reason these are getting 4 stars instead of 2 or 3 is because of the price and the sound. Mind you, that doesn't mean these are the best sounding mics I've ever used but they are good enough for most work and that coupled with the rock bottom price(currently $29 even) I'm not sure you're going to get a better value.That said, OH MY GOD, why all the red!? These are already larger than most wireless mics but then you make half of them bright red and slap a white Joby logo on there and they're downright obnoxious.Then there is the even bigger issue of it dropping out. It's fine up close but once you get to about the middle of it's stated range you can't let anything get in between the receiver and the transmitters. That includes your body, so no turning around or anything like that.In the end, I'd say this is a great starter set if you can't afford higher end gear at the moment. And they're cheap enough you could even keep a set for use when shooting conditions are sketchy and you don't want to risk losing or breaking more expensive gear. That last one is why these are going to stay in my bag:)

Be sure to test them. You may have to adjust the gain, which is a nice feature.

Best feature is that you can plug lavs into the transmitters and that the lavs are included. And I don't mind that they don't have noise reduction because at this price point it probably would have sounded so compressed the audio would be unuseable.A few things that annoyed me though:The mounts. The listing page says that there are "unique design mounts." Unique, meaning they don't really work with anything else you use for your cameras or phones. And the placement on the unit is just strange. And also there are not pairs of some mounts to use one on each transmitter!No case, bag, anything! Just a bunch of parts in a box. I mean, I have bought $10 battery banks that came with a little velvety drawstring bag. It feels like asking someone if you can borrow two dollars and they pour 40 nickels in your hand. "What am I supposed to do with these?"They are just kind of cheap and plasticky feeling. They seem larger than they should be, so it is a good thing they have the lav mics so the transmitters can be clipped out of sight. I am not crazy about the way they look but that is kind of on me because I saw pictures of them before I ordered them. It would have been nice if they had a black on black option or even a grey on black like some Joby products in the past.I don't like that they combine both mics to one channel. Many kits now have a stereo mode so that you can isolate each one in the edit and change the levels. This just means that you will have to pay close attention to where you clip it on each person. On a louder person you will want to give the mic a few more inches of distance. And you will want to monitor the audio, so hopefully your camera has both a mic input and a headphones output.But hey, for this price point they are actually a pretty good value, especially since they include the lav mics. If those things that annoyed me are not a big deal for you, they would be a very good beginner kit for wireless audio. And if they get damaged or you lose one down the line, it will not be as big of a deal.

I haven't had a Joby product in years. They started in San Francisco making Gorillapods, but has been acquired by an Italian company that also owns Manfrotto and Gitzo. The founder has since moved on to aviation. Anyway, I just wanted to point out the background of the company.The audio quality is really good. It isolates your voice without letting in a lot of background noise. Also, there's a variety of ways to mount the device according to your needs. You can swap out clips using the quick connect system. They include a magnetic mount that attaches to a pendant, a regular clip, a cold shoe mount, and a special clip that mounts to a Gorillapod. There's only one set of pendant and magnet. I guess it's for vloggers.I'm not a fan of the conspicuous colors, and the bulky transmitter. You could plug in the wired lav mics, then hide the transmitter, but that's not as convenient. Also, the receiver doesn't have a display to monitor battery life, and sound level. The LED color on the TX gives you a clue on battery level, but I'd rather have a traditional display. If you plug the RX into a camera, then the camera may have a sound level meter. If it does, then it won't be an issue. There are volume buttons on the side of the TX, and the power button will light up to indicate what the volume level is. The more LEDs that light up around the circle, the higher the volume. That's kinda weird, but that's how it works. The blinking LED at the bottom of the circle indicates pairing/paired.The quality of this system is very good, but it's larger than the competition, and the LEDs are a quirky design. I have enough difficulty memorizing where all the settings are on my cameras, so I prefer to have a small mic that's simple and straightforward to operate. I can't memorize what the blinking lights and colors represent. It's a minor issue. I'm still impressed by the quality of the product, and the number of accessories included in the box.

I can't even believe how amazing these sound especially for the price. These rival any of the really expensive ones. My only complaint and it's not that big of a deal, is I wish they weren't red and black. If they were all black you could semi-hide them clipped onto a black shirt but the red is so obnoxious. Makes it so you kinda have to use the lav mic if you don't want to look like a wanna be influencer. Other than that....again, the sound is incredible!
