Chilean Sphagnum Moss
Retains water well, aiding in maintaining a high level of humidity, making sphagnum moss an ideal choice as substrate in many amphibian enclosures and for a humid hide in your snake or lizard cage.
How to Use Chilean Sphagnum Moss
Prep
Dampen with dechlorinated water before placing in the terrarium.
Use just enough moss to completely cover the soil and press flat.

Sphagnum Moss works best when used with False Bottom, ABG Mix, Substrate Barrier, and Leaf Litter.

Add focal points like wood and hides

Step 3
Tuck plants around the decor with tall plants in the back and shorter plants in the front.

Springtails and isopods are small insects that eat waste, dead plant matter, and mold.

Step 5
The vivarium is ready for Dart Frogs, or other pets that like low ventilation and high humidity.

Josh's Frogs Chilean Sphagnum Moss is a great planting media for a wide range of plants.
Sphagnum Moss is sometimes called 'Orchid Moss' due to it's ability to grow orchids and other epiphytic plants.
It is also popular as a liner for hanging baskets, and as a substrate to root plant cuttings in. Josh's Frogs Chilean Sphagnum Moss is perfect for air layering, and other methods of plant propagation.

My only wish would be to buy it in larger bags. It isn't exactly cheap but is a very clean and quality product.

This is definitely one of the larger sizes of moss that can be ordered on amazon and is probably beyond excessive for personal use. Make VERY sure you soak it and rinse it several times. it does appear to contain additional organic matter that could lead to rot, like roots, stems and other things. Overall though its a great value for the amount even with the extra straining work

As the tittle says, this moss is full of twigs and dead roots, and when I say full I mean a lot of it, so if you are a purist and need super clean moss, this is not for you, however I wanted it to make moss poles and for the price you cannot beat this, I will be able to make a ton of moss poles for my plants with this single pack and for the purpose I don't really care that it has so many extras.

I was expecting lower quality because of the great price but there's no twigs, etc. Like other bulk packages I've bought in the past. Recommended!

Bought it as recommended for my goldfish plant. The bag filled this 8" shallow pot. My plant loves it and the sphagnum retains many times its weight in water without drowning the plant.

Nice quality. Used for plants (Venus fly traps).Some debris and twigs to pick out, but otherwise worked well for my purpose.

This is the softest sphagnum moss I’ve ever bought! I’ve never had any problems with debris, either, like I have with other brands, aside from the occasional stick, but I don’t mind since it’s going into a reptile enclosure. You get a lot for a good price, and Josh’s Frogs is a great brand overall!

Love Josh’s frogs. I have a bio active crested gecko set up and currently working on a new set up for my ball python! My stuff always arrives when it says it will and always in good condition. I always have what I need because of the helpful grouped packages like the bio active starter kit. Both my gecko and my snake absolutely love their enclosures and Josh’s frogs products provide them with a healthy, safe, and natural environment. Couldn’t recommend more.
