These blinds look great and function great. Light does get through around the sides, but they still greatly reduce the amount of light coming in. Also they’re super easy to install.

These blackout roller shades from Joydeco are nicely made and offer a decent amount of light blocking depending on how they're mounted. They are easily mounted inside or outside of a window frame but best results are achieved when mounting inside the window pocket if your situation allows it. Also, depending how close the blind rests against the window, some light will bleed around the edges of the blind. We mounted this over a door that is located within a dormer so we had to get a little creative positioning the mounting brackets as close to the glass as possible for maximum light blocking, and also to minimize interference with our dormer walls when opening the door. The blind mechanism works very well to easily raise or lower the blind with very little effort. The material is an effective light block but it does tend to curl inwards along the edges, which also affects light bleed on the sides. Despite the difficulties eliminating all light bleed, these shades do look great and at $53.99 for the 33" x 75" door shade, we'll give this 4 stars.

I really love these blackout roller shades. They almost have an insulation to them and keeping the cold air out when this is closed. It was very hard to have the cords hanging down with the kids constantly pulling on it with the last shades we had, so this one is perfect! This roller shade feels quality. I love the weight, quality and thickness of this beautiful shade. It is exactly what we were looking for. It seems very sturdy and well-made.I believe if you get this item, you will not be disappointed, it is pretty straightforward and exactly as the item is posted.Here is my honest opinion on this item:Excellent - If I absolutely love the product and it exceeds my expectation, I will actively suggest the product to my friends and would purchase it again myself as needed.Less than Excellent - I really like this item and it does what the seller claims it would do. I would more than likely recommend it to someone if I knew they were looking for that product.Sub Standard- This item is standard and for the most part does exactly what they say it does, but I would specify any differences. There may be things about a three star rating that I don’t like about the product. If I knew someone were looking for that specific item and I recommend it to them, I would also share with them the reservations that I have.Not so great - I take low ratings seriously. I also take seriously issues with items after you have spent good money on them. In this case, I would probably never recommend anything that I would rate two stars on, in fact, I would probably warn people so they would shy away from buying this item.You might want to find something else - It takes some serious issues to get a one star review from me. Great buy, perfect roll-ability, blocks all the light; would have given 5 stars but one came with a small tear in one layer, letting more than a speck of light through, not enough to return it, can be covered with a dime size piece of white electrical tape on the outside…

Definitely buy these shades! They were very easy to install on the window. With a drill, it took about 5-10 minutes. They fit the window nicely. They are easy to pull down and stay in place. The shade is good thickness and it is light blocking. The color is exactly as advertised. We bought more for other windows in our house because we liked it so much. They were a much better value than comparable products out there!

This blind works very well, it does look good, it is well made and it is easy to operate.I specifically like the operation, you pull down to close and push up to open. The whole mechanism works smoothly.You get all the hardware needed inside the box (brackets, anchors and screws). In my case I used a cordless drill to make the holes in the window's frame, then set the screws for the brackets. That is all tools I needed. The whole installation process took less than five minutes, it is very simple. Instructions provided are very clear but honestly the whole thing is very intuitive.
