You literally just plug these into a switch. It's fantastic. I will say that I still occasionally get some stutter in the audio while using these. I'm running on CAT-6A & CAT-8, so I feel certain that is not the issue. I haven't tried 4K video over them for a long period of time over, most of my experience was with 1080p video, but based on the short time I tried 4K and all the hours of TV on 1080p I have confidence that they'll work well. I had a dud at first and the company replaced the receiver at no extra charge.

Item worked with HDMI (4k never did work) to extend my signal for 365 days. Item failed the day the warranty expired. Contacted J-Tech, waiting to see if they will assist. For $140, it should last longer than one year. Find another brand.

Don't pay any attention to the nay say reviews. It works exactly as clearly advertised. This is a great product. We have at least 4 pair with no issues and we've used direct and through a switch with a dedicated VLAN. We use these for our church media.

I have this and one additional receiver. I have a Comcast set-top box sitting in a data closet in another part of the house that is nowhere near any TVs and it works just like the box is sitting next to the TV. I connected a receiver to each TV in the living room and bedroom and now each TV shows the video when I select the channel on the Comcast box. (It displays only a single channel because there is only one TV box.)So here is my setup:Cat 6 wiring to endpoints in the house (behind where TVs are mounted on walls, intercoms, desk access points, XBox network jack, etc) go to a data closet in the center of the house. In the data closet I also have a TV cable feed.In the data closet I have a rack with some gigabit switches . I have the switches mounted in the rack along with some rack shelves; the shelves have my cable modem/router and Comcast Xfinity set-top box. The TV cable feed splits to the cable modem and set-top box.I installed the transmitter in the closet with a single HDMI cable to the set-top box. The transmitter ethernet is connected to a switch in the rack. The IR output is placed where the emission will be seen by the front of the set-top box.On the rear of each TV, I have a receiver and connected a small gigabit router . I plugged the receiver and the TV into the small router, and then the small router is plugged into the wall jack behind the TV (which means it plugs into the router in the data closet).I switched the TV to the HDMI input of the receiver and there was really nothing more to do. The TV remote controls the set-top box in the closet through the IR ports.

Excellent Results. We have 4 - 50" & 70" TVs connected to our 16 camera Surveillance system via an NVR using this product. We had tried 3 different top of line HDMI amplified splitters and top of the line cables that could not adequately carry the 16 picture array from our 4GB and 8GB cameras without a significant amount for degradation and constant flickering. We tried this with 4 receivers on Cat5e cables and a 1gig switch and now view all 16 cameras in an array on all 4 HD TV monitors at once. The pictures are perfect and clear and never once is there a flicker or other issue. These cost a little more than the HDMI amplified splitters but without any hesitation I can say it well worth the price.

These extenders work great transmitting HDMI video and sound through CAT6 wiring. Also go them to work through TCP/IP using power line adapters in a situation where I could not run cables. Video quality is excellent and audio synchronization is good. One to many transmission seems to require use of specialized switches and this is not made clear in online literature. But the units do work great.

I have only had this item for a few days. I have streamed non-HDCP, stereo 720P data over my wired home network from one room to another. The image looked pristine and the lip sync was spot on. If you can hear the audio from your source, there is a bit of a delay on the receiver end. This shouldn't matter in most applications. I have not attempted 4K video, but I will. I would recommend this product to anyone wanting to stream HDMI video on a home network or directly with a dedicated Ethernet cable.

The product works as promised allowing the dissemination of HDMI signals at long distances in perfectly clear picture via cat 5/6 protocol. Customer support is helpful and responsive too. I called them to conform what product I needed for my particular needs and they set me up so I can buy more receivers for my full solution after first buying a set of these for test purposes. One thing I may do is add a heat sink on units as one of them seemed a bit hot. Anyway product is guaranteed for 1 year just in case. I highly recommend this product.
