3. Nailing

It is an ideal hammer for hitting a nail. If you make a pilot hole with a Japanese woodworking drill (KIRI auger) in advance, you can nail more precisely and quickly.

Please hit with a flat face at first. When you nail mostly, change to a domed face for finish strike. The domed face head does not damage the wood surface.

I was very disappointed with this tool, you tell me why does a nice looking hammer come to you with a loose head. As a retired tool and die maker if I were to try and sell this I would be out of a job.

This is a great hammer! The head is very well finished. I would give it 5 stars if the handle was about 2” longer and a bit larger at the grip. I have big hands. The head was a bit loose but that’s so easy to fix it is hardly worth mentioning. All wooden handled hammers are going to need the handle tightened from time to time. The handle is good quality wood, but it is bare wood, so I applied a couple of coats of tung oil. I would buy this hammer again.

Well, hold on to your hats folks because I've got a review for you that will knock your socks off! I recently got my hands on the Kakuri Japanese chisel hammer and let me tell you, it's a thing of beauty. This hammer is the real deal, folks. From the moment I held it in my hand, I knew that I was dealing with a tool that was crafted by true artisans. The weight and balance of this hammer are absolutely perfect, allowing for precise strikes and maximum force without any extra effort. And let's talk about the design. This hammer is a work of art. The sleek, clean lines and minimalist aesthetic are pure Japanese craftsmanship at its finest. It's the kind of tool that makes you want to display it on a pedestal and worship it like a god.But don't let the good looks fool you, this hammer is tough as nails. I've used it for everything from delicate chisel work to heavy-duty demolition and it hasn't let me down yet. It's like having a samurai sword in your toolbox. And let's not forget about the seller. They did an outstanding job, with fast and efficient shipping and great customer service. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.Overall, I give the Kakuri Japanese chisel hammer my highest recommendation. It's a tool that will last you a lifetime, and one that you'll be proud to own. So go ahead and treat yourself to one, you won't regret it.

Not a good sign when a hammer comes with instructions to tighten up the handle before you use it. Sure enough, it was so loose that it would wobble in the head. So I banged the end of the handle on the floor "per the instructions." The head slid down the handle so far that 3/8" of the handle now sticks out of the top of the head. So much for resetting the wedges to lock in the handle. As well, the diameter of the handle is sized for someone with a tiny hand...say someone about 8-10 years old. Looks like I get to make my own handle. Sigh....
