I wanted a ukulele to keep it my desk. But I didn't want to spend an arm and leg for something I was gonna keep at work. This Kala Riptide sounds as good or better than instruments 4 or 5 times more expensive. I am in "love" with her. Her name is Gidget and I am her Moon-Doggy!

Nice sound. Tuning mechanism holds very well once strings are broken in. Good action. No problems with frets or neck.

Arrived 1 day early++Well packaged.No sharp frets, action & intonation very good. Held tune after 3 days or so. The striping is some sort of decal/ paint not a inlay but looks good.Only gave 4 stars because quality control missed a small blemish of the headstock (see pic) but only notice if really looking, cant see with tuner on. (Not worth the issue of exchanging.)Doesn't come with a gig bag or any extras but I guess that is reflected in the price. Not a rating issue... even more expensive Kala ukes don't come with extras. Looks nice hanging with her brothers and sisters.

This was a nice looking ukulele, but the sound was horrible. Not great for a beginner because if you don't have good sound it becomes disheartening and you get frustrated.
