I played guitar as a kid and I am going crazy with all of the social distancing during the pandemic. I bought this ukulele because a friend recomended Kala. It is beautful to look at and listen to, even when this beginner is playing.

I have had problems with ukes having bad intonation. So I went to the local music store and picked this up. Although intonation is not perfect, it is much better than the other ukes under $100. I played other Kalas at the music store, and honestly their tone did not impress as much as this! I love the midrange tones that spruce tops seem to produce. I highly recommend buying locally, because they had another uke of this same model that did have intonation problems. Some intonation problems can be fixed at the bridge, but beware of getting one too far off. For the money, this is a great buy. While at the store, I asked if they would change the 3 strings I had with me already. I am not an Aquila nylgut fan. So it ended up looking kinda cool to me. I have some worth browns on order. I think it would be fun and pleasing to the eye to have one brown string on this pattern of uke:) The whole reason I bought the uke was to have fun!
