About this item

  • High-quality Components: All KastKing fish landing nets are built with high-quality 6063 Aluminum alloy for exceptional performance, reliable use, and durability. This material is stronger than other Aluminum alloys and can resist bending and cracking. The wall thickness of the handle is 1mm that can support up to 44lbs/20KG while still maintain lightweight. (Model #Largest Size: 33lbs/15KG)
  • Foldable & Retractable: Using a u-shaped design net hoop, the KastKing Brutus landing net features a push-down switch for a convenient storage. This switch was connected to the net frame and reinforced with four stainless screws. Quickly and easily pull down the release button to retract the net frame. In addition to the retracting handle, the net frame folds in half to reduce the size for easy storage and transportation.
  • Environment Friendly & Stealth Design: Specially designed with two different fishing net choices: nylon covered PVC or, silicone. These quality materials guarantee snag and tangle-free performance. Especially the soft silicone material that is fish-friendly so that it reduces harm to fish if you are planning to release your catch. That is a perfect choice for avid anglers practicing catch and release. The clear rubberized nets won’t spook the fish during the landing process.
  • Bright Color EVA Handle:The bright orange EVA foam handle allows you quickly find the landing net in just a few seconds, even in low light conditions. And this comfortable EVA handle provides a firm handgrip and makes the handle much easier to hold without slipping when your hand is wet or in cold weather.
  • Multiple Choices: The KastKing landing net for fishing is available in 2 types. The net comes with a convenient storage bag to protect the net when not in use. The Largest size landing net features a second extension handle to adjust the length for a longer reach. Choose the right size for fishing style – bank fishing, boat fishing, large fish & smaller fish.

The KastKing Brutus Fishing Net is hands down one of the best fishing accessories I’ve ever added to my gear. From its foldable and extendable design to its high-quality materials, it checks all the boxes for convenience and durability.Key Features: • Foldable & Portable: The net folds down compactly, making it super easy to store and carry. Perfect for anglers on the go! • Extendable Handle: The telescoping handle extends smoothly, giving me extra reach when landing fish, especially in tricky spots. • Tangle-Free Mesh: The netting is made of rubber-coated, snag-free material, which protects fish scales and prevents annoying tangles. • Sturdy Build: Despite being lightweight, the frame and handle are incredibly strong, handling bigger catches with ease. • Versatile Design: Whether I’m fishing in a lake, river, or saltwater, this net performs beautifully in all environments.I love how effortless it is to use. The foldable design saves space in my gear bag, and the extendable handle makes landing fish much easier, even in deeper water. Plus, the tangle-free mesh means I spend less time dealing with snags and more time fishing. If you’re a fishing enthusiast, the KastKing Brutus Landing Net is a must-have addition to your kit. It’s reliable, easy to use, and built to last. Highly recommended for both beginners and seasoned anglers!

This is the largest Brutus net with silicone webbing, which I have tested on my bass boat and kayak. I ordered this because I wanted: 1. Something larger than I had been using on my kayak; 2. Silicone webbing that would be gentler on the fish and not allow hooks to get stuck 3. Also usable on my bass boat yet stowable. There is product quality and there is fit for use. Some people confuse these two. This net scores in both regards for me. I’ve had the chance to use it on a few kayak trips and one in the bass boat. So far it has performed well and seems well made. I can’t speak to long-term durability—if I run into issues I will edit this review.Quality: It was easy to assemble—just a couple steps. You can play with the alignment to position the measuring scale to be on top or wherever you want it when the net is deployed. It is easy to open up the hoop and extend the handle as much or little as needed—standard twist-lock and telescoping mechanism. And once you’ve worked the release a few times to fold the hoop back up it’s pretty easy. I’ve played with Academy’s comparable net and the Brutus is much easier to set up and adjust and feels lighter yet more solid overall. Worth the extra $10 in price. It comes with a zippered cover, but I don’t know why you’d use it unless your having to pack it for transport.Fit for Use: This is a big net. I wanted a bigger, beefier net, since the foldable net I’ve been using strains with a 4-5 lb bass. See two pics comparing the nets collapsed and deployed/fully extended. It is definitely heavier, particularly with the huge silicone net. See in another pic that 16”/ 2 lb bass looks like a minnow in the bottom of this thing. This model Brutus may be a little bigger than I need for the kayak (unless I go after something bigger than typical bass). The next size down would probably be better sized if I used it only there. But I’ll also use it on my bass boat, for which it is sized perfectly with the handle extended. On the yak I keep it up on the bow of my Hobie Outback with the handle unextended between my drive pedals. The silicone net delivers on the reasons I wanted it and then some. It is easier on the fish than thin webbing, plus hooks are easy to remove. It is a pain when hooks get wrapped in the webbing (or even worse, pierce it), especially trebles. I netted fish with all kinds of lures and had no problem getting the hooks out. Another thing I noticed that I didn’t think about when ordering is odor retention. I usually have to wash my other nets when I get home to remove the fishstench. This last yak outing I netted three fish and just dipped it quickly in the lake after each one. It had no fishy smell at all when we were done. So if you’re stowing this thing after use it shouldn’t stink up your hold, etc.So BOTTOM LINE: well-made, sized great for a boat, ok for a yak but a little big unless you’re going after something bigger than typical bass. Easy on the fish, easy to get hooks out and doesn’t hold odor very much. I would recommend, and would definitely consider the next size down if only using on a yak.

This net is wonderful for the price. Let me get the negatives out of the way first. The bag that it comes in is cheaply made, doesn't slide on and off easily, and is a bit of a pain to use. I might eventually use it sometime when the net inside it is completely dry and I'm traveling somewhere and the net has to be packed in with other non-fishy stuff. Otherwise, I won't. I can't say that I really care about this, though, as I didn't buy it for the bag. The net was shipped in a massive flat box that was many times larger than the net and there was nothing else in the box. The net clearly bounced around in the box on its way to me, but once it was dusted off there was no damage to it at all due to its very solid construction (more on that later). I also didn't really mind this. Now, for the negative that I did mind. There were some machining marks on the metal hinge mechanism that made folding and unfolding the hoop not quite smooth. It still worked, but took more effort than it should have. These were easy enough to detect and fix with a quick smoothing with a file. I also added a bit of marine grease to make it even smoother while I was fixing this, and now it folds and unfolds really easily and smoothly. Now that I've covered the negatives, let me cover the positives. This net is GREAT, especially for the price. It is very strong, even with the handle fully extended. I generally only extend it enough to get the handle slid all the way out of the hoop since I'm usually fishing on my kayak. Even so, I extended the other section and played around with picking up various heavy items in my garage to amuse myself since it was built so well. I hope I get a chance later this year to lift a big salmon out of the rivers when we're banking fishing. I have no doubt that it will handle it well. It also packs up very small for its full size without compromising hoop strength or being too narrow at one end like most collapsible nets. I used it yesterday out on the kayak fishing and netting well over 20 fish (it was a good day) and it worked great for every one of them.If not for those machining marks that I had to clean up to make it perfect, I would have rated the net five stars for sure. Many people may not have cared about that, but I'm an engineer and always want my gear to work as well as it possibly can. At this price point, there's nothing else on the market that can compare to the quality and value of this net. I know of at least one more of these that has been purchased due to seeing mine. I expect that there will be many more. :)

Light in weight and good construction but as is the case for any landing net I wouldn't rely on it fully extended (although it probably would be okay). The net itself is rubberised. It is no bother to clean and it dries well. Fish don't seem to like it, but hey, you can't please everyone! Seriously though, it doesn't do them any harm.
