nice for freshwater fish BUT NOT for saltwater fish the handle has no real backbone to leaf fish and rigs into boat. This net will not last a summer.

Every now and then you hook a bigger panfish that can shake off if you try to lift it in the boat. You learn to net them and this is perfect for that.

This is a great net! Hooks do not get tangled in this so makes it much easier to get your fish out! Extends a good distance so great for fishing off a pontoon!

When the father in law asked for a fishing net.. the husband went to Amazon! Of course when it arrived he had to check it out too! The size and durability was up to his standards! Looks pretty simple to use too! Pretty neat thing to have on a fishing trip!

The net part is fine, large and sturdy. The expanding shaft is not so great. There is no clamping for the expanding shafts so you have to firmly yank out the extension to get it to stay wedged in place. Then, to close, bang it on the deck until the tension releases. The securing screw caps at the end of each section are soft metal and the fine treads are easily damaged, making it hard to collapse the several shafts and hold them in place. Additionally, two of the screw caps came unglued from their shafts and had to be cleaned and epoxied back on. I'd make a different choice next time..
