  • Folding Grapnel Boat Anchor: Perfect for small boats, kayaks, canoes, dinghies, paddle boards, and more. Whether you're anchoring for SUP yoga, jet skiing, or kayak fishing, this versatile anchor ensures stability and reliability on the water.
  • Complete Anchoring Kit: Includes a folding grapnel boat anchor, 40FT durable rope, buoy float, D shackle, locking carabiner, 50 zip ties, and a convenient storage bag—everything you need for a secure and hassle-free anchoring experience.
  • Two Weights Available: 1.5LB (0.7KG) for shallow waters up to 20ft, low flow and rough ground, and 3.5LB (1.5KG) for depths up to around 100ft, moderate flows and most ground types if used with chain - this is the most common size used on a kayak.
  • Zip Ties Included for Anti-Snag Anchor Setup: Attach the rope to the top eye of the anchor using a small zip tie as a "weak link." Under normal use, force runs parallel to the anchor, minimizing stress on the zip tie. If snagged, move up-tide or up-flow to change the rope angle. A few sharp tugs should break the zip tie, freeing the anchor. This simple, cost-effective method is the most popular anti-snag setup.
  • Upgrade Marine Grade Rope: Upgrade to a premium marine-grade rope with a high-strength polyester core, offering a superior 1,936 lbs breaking strength compared to inferior polypropylene's 1,058 lbs. Designed for durability, it features excellent UV and abrasion resistance, ensuring long-lasting performance without breaking under stress.

This anchor set is going to work out great for my kayak! This set includes everything to get started: grappler style anchor, rope, float, carabiner, zip ties and a storage bag. The grappler style anchor includes integrated holes on the bottom and the top so that you can tie the anchor rope directly to the bottom hole and zip tie the rope to the top hole. This will allow the rope to release from the upper most hole and pull the anchor from bottom up in the event of a snag. The included rope and carabiner aren’t the best quality however they appear to be sufficient to get started. I will utilize the included styrofoam float until it wears out. I will likely replace the carabiner with a quick adjust carabiner prior to first use. Ultimately you can’t go wrong for the low cost of this anchor setup. The anchor itself folds up and has a ring at the top that turns to lock it closed and when ready to use you turn it to release the grapplers and then lower the ring and twist to lock the grapplers open. This is a very light weight anchor system for use in a kayak and the grapplers will assist with keeping the kayak in place. Everything fits easily into the included storage bag as well. I am very pleased with the product.

This product arrived well packaged with no damage. I got this anchor to work with a Standup Paddle Board or a small inflatable dinghy. The collapsible anchor, included line, carabiner, and storage case make this an attractive package for our use. As we are typically only using an anchor to secure on a sandy beach, the 1.5 lb size is ideal. The anchor design incorporates a locking ring that allows you to store it completely folded, or with the anchor tangs extended. In either configuration, the ring holds the tangs securely in position. A rope float is included so that if you should drop the anchor line, the float will keep the rope at the surface so that you can retrieve it. As shown, a storage bag is included, and the anchor, rope, and float all fit neatly into the bag. A set of included zip ties allow you to configure the anchor with a weak link release so that it can be retrieved should the anchor become fouled. Overall, this is a nicely complete kit for a lightweight anchoring solution. One should not expect an anchor package of this size and weight to hold in strong currents or winds, and that is not how we will use it. For preventing a paddle board or small dinghy from floating away, this is ideal.

Well made folding kayak anchor kit. That 40 feet of braided anchor line breaks at 1900 pounds. It has about 5% stretch. Kit includes light zip ties to set anchor up as no snag (see the purchase page for excellent lesson on non snag). Also use a ziptie on the eye of the bow shackle the slapping waves can vibrate it open and the shaft is not captive. Includes float and locking carabineer on the float side. After you have lost an anchor because someone forgot to tie it to the boat you will appreciate the included float.Anchor 671 grams rest of kit 297 grams. This is what I have been needing. My old folding anchor was too heavy 5 pounds. The new smaller anchor is Kelly green so it will not be left in camp and the entire kit weighs half of the old anchor. This is ideal for anchoring a small kayak in less than 20 feet of slow water (ideal anchor line length 3 to 5 time water depth). My nasty test -- I have man killing branches hanging from 80 year old Douglas firs. I used this set up as a grapple to safely pull them down from a distance. It is a good test to see how it snags, stays open, and rope break strength. I am very happy with it's performance.

We own several different inflatables for use on our local lakes and rivers. If a breeze comes up or the current is moving and we just want to stay put, it’s nice to have an anchor on board. Last fall I had the misfortune of flipping the blue inflatable kayak (don’t ask how) and losing my folding anchor as well some other equipment. Grrrr…. As I’ve slowly replaced the lost equipment the last thing I’ve needed to replace was the aforementioned anchor. I saw these Moclear kayak anchors offered in both 3.5 lb and 1.5 lb sizes. I already own a 3.5 lb anchor and I decided to go with the 1.5 lb Moclear for a few reasons. First, it is obviously smaller and easier to store and manipulate (especially for my wife). Secondly, in most cases we are just trying to hold ourselves on one spot in light current/wind while we fish or eat lunch. If the wind or current is really moving neither anchor is going to hold on a smooth bottom unless you include a relatively heavy chain…which defeats the purpose of carrying a small, light anchor. Even if the breeze picks up, I can drop this anchor into submerged brush or into heavy rocks to keep me in place. To me these small anchors act more like a folded, weighted grappling hook, than a heavy hunk-o-metal. Speaking of using this in the rocks, I like that they included zip ties so I can rig the anchor to break away from the neck and be pulled up from the underside in the event it gets hung up (see photo for rigging. The 40’ rope is generous and much better that the 25’ rope that came with my previous anchor. The sliding ring allows you to “lock” the flukes either up for storage or down for use. In addition to the anchor, rope, and zip ties, Moclear includes a “D” shackle, a float, a locking carabiner to hook up to your boat, and a nice carrying bag for the whole she-bang. All of this comes at a very reasonable $20.
