It's Kester 44.. If doing very small SMD and Micro-Soldering go with (0.15") it's very easy to work with and the flux does great on it's own. this is a good way to find out if you'll like Kester without spending a fortune, and the seller who makes these tubes of this 44, is a good small business owner, so your supporting that as well.. The solder is great quality, and I love being able to order a smaller amount since I only use it for jobs where I need high quality, fine gauge solder. They also have great customer service. Initially their shipping service lost my package and eventually returned it to sender, so I contacted CML Supply and they quickly got back to me and sent me a replacement. Will definitely be ordering more in the future.

As a hobbyist I bought this more for situations where lead free wouldn't be too good, like certain temperature sensitive components that don't want to be near.Had sone cheaper lead free that was really not getting the job done while working on a practice kit, so I cracked this open, dialed down the iron to about 625°F, and it flowed well onto the pad, creating a shiny bulb around the component's lead. This was able to consistently give me a good result, and is a good example of getting what you paid for. This thickness is good for working with smaller components too IMO as opposed to the 0.8 that is more commonly found and supplied with a lot of irons.I'll likely buy more Kester solder for a while. As it does the job!

I will admit to not being the best at soldering, and have recently needed to do a lot of it as I have been rewiring my model railroad. With my soldering pencil at 450 degrees, this solder melts quickly and easily eliminating my past problems with melted ties, needing flux which then had to be neutralized, etc.

I was soldering components on a small circuit board and having trouble getting another solder to flow correctly. Grabbed this one off my bench and it worked perfectly. I plan on ordering the same brand, but a bit thicker next time. I'm sure this thickness has its place, but for my purposes, thicker would have been a bit simpler but I got what I ordered. For melting and flow though, this couldn't be beat.

Thickness is as advertised but thinner than what I previously used. Once I adjusted to the different thickness, it worked well.
