When we got our new puppy he was right at 6 weeks old. He was barely 6 lbs and a Cavapoo. We named him Opie Taylor after the Andy Griffith show. He was so scared being away from his siblings and momma that we had to hold him all of the time, even to sleep. This little heartbeat item is ingenious and mimics his mom's heartbeat. He slept over 5 hours in his crate for the very first time with this. Talk about a life saver. I highly recommend this and just leave it on so your puppy can find comfort in the transition to his new furever home with you. Puppies need to sense mom around just like children. It is very easy to change the batteries when fresh ones are needed. A good item to have for new puppies.

At a Singleton puppy and thought hearing and heartbeat or at least feeling it might be helpful I don't know if it really was comforting to the puppy but she certainly snuggled up next to it. Well it's worth it. Hold the charge for about 6-8 hours and the outer case can be thrown in the washing machine.

I ordered this for my puppy and she absolutely loves it. I turn it on and put it in her kennel and she snuggles up to it. Great concept and functionality.

Ordered yesterday for this abandoned newborn baby kitty who is in rough shape. It arrived today and I immediately opened, cut off the giant, scratchy tag, and set up the “heartbeat” which does not work. Swapped for Energizer aaa batteries and still doesn’t work. I’m devastated because I was hoping this would help this neonate to survive…not saying it won’t without it but I’m sure a comforting mother’s heart would help. Not to mention I could have purchased 2+ cans of kitten formula for what I wasted on this.I recognize I jumped the gun on cutting the tag off but as you can see in the pic it’s bigger than the kitten and rough so I cut it off immediately.Poor kitty…I had high hopes of this providing comfort. It’s now a very expensive chew toy for my dogs.

I'm new at fostering bottle babies. And as such was last on list because I don't have any of the gear. We have a TNR colony and foster the kittens born if it before moms are caught and fixed. So older kittens we were ready for. But a trio recently came in to the shelter we work with and there was no one else available. So we took them anyways.It was breaking my heart how sad they were even with full tummies. So I found this item hoping it would help.They fall asleep with in minutes, and are sleeping much better and longer, and being calmer even when hungry. Since I only have one set of hands for feeding time.The item that creates the heart beat could be easily inserted in something fluffier if desired. But the heart it's in is providing plenty of surface for all three kittens to cuddle up against and is very easy to clean.The batteries that come with it are cheap, but have lasted several days of non stop use and I have plenty of better ones on hand.Will update with pictures and battery life when opportunity presents.But I didn't want to wait before sharing review. In long run I hope to get the bigger nicer one for the box, and use this one for the kitten being fed. But for now. This is making them feel more secure, and is helping me feel like I'm a better Auntie then before. Plus it's helping keep my Chihuahua calmer, since the crying babies make him so upset. He wants to help but has no clue how. Lol. Who knew his former cat hating self would be such a good uncle to kittens. He's learned to tolerate our foster fails from last year, and now sleeps next to them like he's a cat. But he previously hated every creature but his humans and big sister. Lol.

We almost returned this. We hoped it would help with one of our cats' anxiety, but the "heartbeat" is so loud and rapid it scared her and she wouldn't go near it again. We got the version advertised for kittens.Update: Fortunately one of the cats ended up loving it and it sleeping with it right now. So I guess we're keeping it!

My little Tater LOVES this heartbeat pillow. He snuggles with it and it makes me glad to know I could provide something to comfort him. He has never been an only dog so he was a little unsure of himself. Once we got him the heartbeat pillow he settles much faster. The batteries are long lasting. Once you press the button the you can hear and feel the heart beat for 8 hours. It is a nice size for travel, too.

Nice looking padded heart with a pocket for the "heartbeat" box. The heart was placed in a cardboard box with kittens and they did calm down. You could hear the beat and feel it on the box side. Batteries died in after one-day of use. I'm placing a travel clock inside of it now.

I bought for my new puppy to ease adjustment especially at bedtime.Pros:Looks and works as described, intuitive use.I’m not sure whether it helped or not, but I could see it being a comfort for some.Cons:Battery hungry! Doesn’t last half the night even, so have extras ready.She pulled it apart after only three days, despite only having it at night - to compare, her dollar store stuffies are still undamaged after a month of night and day play. It was a bit worrying to see the stuffing come out of the seams on a toy intended for calming puppies…. could cause a choking/digestive hazard if left unsupervised.

When used properly, the heartbeat pillow is a godsend. I picked up my little girl where the drive home was an hour away. She slept the whole way while laying on top of it for comfort since she’s leaving her pack. Later that night, I used it again in her crate. No whining all night.I read somewhere on the comments that you’ll need to replace the batteries every day. Not true if used overnight and here and there. It’s day three and haven’t changed them yet.Highly recommend!
