1.Measured at apprpximately 3.9inch above the knee joint

They kept slipping down quite a bit on my son despite measuring the size needed per their chart. I think as he gets older they will be okay but would recommend maybe sizing downOverall the fabric feels nice and the padding is definitely sufficient to prevent some scraped knees.
