My wife has been crafting with felt for over 15 years. She really liked the colors in this variety pack because it included ones you don't find often. She prefers to work felt that has at least some wool content and was surprised that the material content was listed as "Felt".Nowhere in the description does it say what this so-called premium felt is made of. She took a chance and ordered it. It wasn't until the package arrived that she was finally able to see that it is 100% polyester. It is a better-quality polyester than you would typically find, but you shouldn't have to order it to find out what it's made out of. $25 for 11 sheets is about what she pays for wool felt. I recognize that some people may prefer the polyester, but it's annoying that you can't tell what it is.

I have been hand embroidering for a few years now and have been looking at expanding my projects beyond just embroidering on standard cotton. When I saw this felt pack, I knew I had to get it to try it out.The felt is soft and has a decent weight and I absolutely love the color variety, each color is so beautiful. I like that they give you a generous size sheet of each color. I didn’t know this when I ordered this pack that the felt is machine washable, but now that I do, it makes this pack even better. I am able to use my water soluble transfer stabilizer on the felt with my pattern on it and not have to worry about ruining it if I try to wash it off.

Oh what a beautiful pack of felt sheets! The neutral fall colors, the deeper rich tones, and the bright light blue for a cheery winter project – all so gorgeous. All of the sheets are consistent in size, color and consistency. I cannot tell what this felt is made of – it doesn’t say in the listing or the packaging. It’s thinner, a bit softer and more flexible than wool felt I have purchased from the bolt in my local fabric store, but it’s thicker, softer and way better quality than the acrylic sheets you find in craft stores. And the colors are so much better! It says it is washable, but if it is a wool felt, it may shrink. If you are using it for projects that may require washing, you may want to consider pre-washing just in case.I cannot wait to use this for many projects – felt leaf garlands, felt leaf wreath, plus other fun felt crafts for gift embellishments with the remnant pieces. I’m very happy with this product!

My sewing machine store has fairly frequent special days when Kimberbell reps would come in and teach different projects. I have seen many finished projects in the store and they always look so nice. I can't go to the classes due to health problems, but I know I liked what I see. When I saw this felt available on the Vine list I went for it. When the package came I was very happy to see the different pieces. I had some felt that I had gotten elsewere and this Kimberbell felt was head and shoulders above the other. The hand of it was so much better - very soft and not patchy looking with thin spots, the colors of the felt were different than basic colors, the pieces were bigger (9" x 12") as well which is nice when you want to cut a large piece out. Apprently the colors of the felt matched Kimberbells fall and winter coaster project that I don't have but they were shown on the back of the packaging and they were very cute. I will certainly be on the lookout for more Kimberbell products and hope to make some of their projects, especially as I have several sewing machines that are capable of doing the machine embroidery.On top of how nice this felt looked and felt to my hand, when I read about the felt on the back of the package, they said that you could wash it! I don't know if other felt is washable as most of the time it comes without any kind of labelling. I have always been under the impression that felt was not washable! Of course, if you are making it into coasters, you would want it to be washable in case your coffee, hot coco, or pop spills on them.I appreciate the opportunity to get this felt and I look forward to using it. I love the color selection - as they are colors I don't have in my current stock of felt and I'm getting ready to make some Christmas ornaments for this winter. I love how soft the felt is and how tight the fabric is, but it is a bit on the thinner side. I'm hand embroidering on it right now and it holds it's shape very well and is very forgiving of any missed stitches I have. Before I started my project, I used the ironed-on freezer paper method for cutting precise cuts. The freezer paper ironed on easily and the felt released nicely when I was ready to take the freezer paper off again - without pulling the fabric out of shape or creating pills/pulls.So far, I'm happy with it! The only thing I wish was that it was a little thicker - since that's what I'm more used to working with... but for the thickness it is, I'm very impressed.
