Had to install in vertical position as the holes don't line up flat or it lays on the rail screw. Also it sticks out on the side so you have to be careful not to hit or cut your legs.Planning on cutting off part sticking out to side. It doesn't match up with screw holes on footboard either so you have to make your own. All in all I made it work but I don't recommend this brand, maybe another brand would be better.

I had purchased these thinking they were full bed rails so when I received them I was disappointed because they were only the extentions. I had skimmed through the description and missed that they were extentions. I was going to return them because I purchased bed rails BUT they were wrong on one end so I ended up having to use these anyway. Boy was I glad I did not return them!!! They worked beautifully!!

I had to drill the frame and extension to get it to fit properly

I bought these rail extensions to use on my antique 1860’s Empire mahogany plantation bed as Queen, from a full size. I love my antique bed but I insisted on being able to use my footboard when converting my bed’s size. First of all, these aren’t cheapo products. These extensions are good quality iron, the same as my bed frame rails. These brackets were surprisingly quick and easy to install. The instructions included were simple. I’ve had these on my bed almost 2 years now and you would never know; they blend in so nicely.

I bought these extensions because our full-size bedroom set includes a headboard and a footboard, but, we had to replace the bedframe, and I found that it was impossible to find a bedframe that included a footboard bracket from any brick & mortar retailer near us.So I bought these extensions, and bolted it onto the foot part of a bedframe that included a headboard bracket. The instructions provided with these extensions called for 3 (three) nuts and 3 bolts per extension. IMHO, that was gross overkill. So I used only one nut and bolt per extension, and that supported our footboard just fine. The instructions of the extension claimed to supply 6 small carriage bolts, 6 nuts, 6 washers, and a cheapo wrench to fasten it all. The packaging actually was missing 1 washer and the cheapo wrench. Which, I got to tell you, was disappointing to me as I suspected the manufacturing may have other defects in it. I could not find any other defects though, and as I said, it appears quite sturdy to me.In short, I recommend these extensions.

I used these to adapt a bed frame of an outmoded size. I needed to get adapter plates in order to use these bars, too, and I had to drill some new holes in the bars to get the right fit -- I don't recall exactly, but I think the problem was that the mattress was a custom length outside of the adjustments on the bars -- not hard to rectify. I am very happy with the sturdiness, the price and the instructions. Saved my bacon.By the way -- they are not as heavy-duty sturdy as the old frame I replaced them with, FYI. But in my case anything heavier would have been a problem.I had one unfounded concern. When the bolts are inserted there are plastic caps that protect the sheets and covers and your calves and shins as you walk past the bed. I was concerned because they do protrude and I thought I might just bump a shinbone into one of these, but I have not even noticed them since it was assembled. I have a narrow passageway to the bed and it has never been a problem, in case you have the concerns I did.

I went to a local mattress store and bought my daughter a full size mattress. Her crib converts to a headboard and footboard on a full size bed. The store it came from wanted close to $300 for the rails that covert the crib over to a bed. I priced out a mattress frame locally and the pricing was outrageous. I settled on a Kings Brand adjustable metal bed frame. This review is for the footboard attachment accessory. This accessory wasn't available locally at my mattress store. They didn't have a way to attach a footboard to their metal bed frame. I settled on Kings Brand because they had this option paired to their bed frame. It was a wise choice. This set has a notch that allows it to fit around the feet. Buying aftermarket and you'll run the risk of holes not lining up or it not working.Installation was a little tricky and I consider myself very handy. The instructions depicted this accessory to be mounted on top of the bed frame. If you do this, the bolts are self locking and squared at the top. The won't fit through the round holes in the bed frame itself. To fix this you need to install this accessory on the bottom of the bed frame. Also, the hardware kit uses locking nuts. Trying to tighten locking nuts with the thin wrench that comes with the hardware kit can be a pain. I used a socket set to make quick work of it. An adjustable wrench or wrench would work just as well. Anything but the tool that comes with it. This is not a complaint. The price point doesn't allow them to send a full size wrench. Use your own if you can. If not, the tool will work. Just takes a while. All in all, great value. Holds the footboard securely and works as intended.
