After the 30 second calibration, the tool works amazingly well! It even detected the CO2 from your breath. I tested it using an unlit lighter and is it highly accurate. I'm pretty shocked at how well it works. It works better than the Bacharach Leakator I was given at work that costs hundreds of dollars. I highly recommend this tool if you need to find a leak and fast. A helpful tip is to make sure you wait the 30 seconds every time you power it on in order for it to work properly. Great product and I will be sure to let everyone know about this product and how well it works!

The detector takes about 30 seconds to calibrate and be ready for use.I tested with a gas stove with gas flowing slightly (but not lit), an open gas cap on a car, and an open container of rubbing alcohol (small flip top opening). In each case, the gas was detected when the device was within an inch or so of the gas source. After detecting the gas, and moving the device away from the source, and back toward it, detecting the gas seemed to be more difficult (you needed to get closer to it). This characteristic seems to make the high vs. low level option of detection inaccurate when you switch modes. It seemed to work well for the initial detection of gas, but was inconsistent when moving within that area, and switching between high and low detection modes.The backlight is nice for dark situations, glows green until a gas is detected, then turns red.

Acheté pour détecter une fuite sur mon réseau de gaz. Il fonctionne très bien et est très simple d'utilisation, ceci pour un prix très abordable. De plus les piles sont fournies ainsi que le petit tournevis pour ouvrir le compartiment piles . J'en suis très satisfait.

We thought we smelled gas by the fireplace in the back yard. We tested with this tool. Found the leak and fixed it. Could have been catastrophic.

Erstmals vorneweg. Es war ein kostenloses Vine Produkt. Dies fließt aber nicht in meine Bewertung mit ein,Das Gerät selbst ist schnell gestartet. Einfach die Batterien rein, einschalten und nach einer kurzen Justierphase kann es messen.Getestet hatte ich es, wie es auch in der Beschreibung steht, mit Feuerzeuggas. Da hat es auch anstandslos angeschlagen. Ein Leck bei mir daheim habe ich nicht, aber dort müsste es es auch anzeigen.Das Gerät wird aber für Gasflaschen an Campinggrills benutzt. Sicher ist sicher, da man doch öfters mal die Gasflasche austauschen muss.Und wer Start sich schon an eine weitere Sicherheitsmaßnahme?Auf jeden Fall sehe ich keinen Punkt wo ich bemängelen kann.

This tool is essential for plumbers that install water heaters. The meter has level indicators and a green light if it is safe and gas free. It lights up red when gas is detected, and it is a dangerous area. You always want to check the fittings and soldering when installing a hot water heater. This pen will let you know the installation went well and everything is safe. The pens run off of 2 aaa batteries and then pen has visual and audible alerts on it. The body is hard plastic and should not damage easily. Overall, a good gas detection pen to have in our tool kit.
