I tried two different types of post-op collars but this suit was definitely the best in protecting the spay wound post-op. My pup was still able to lick her wound even with the soft collars but with this easy-to-apply suit that was impossible. The medium size fits my 27 lb dog perfectly and the Velcro straps are secure around her middle. The access hole looks adequate for potty time but I simply unfasten the Velcro to allow her to go with ease and reapply when she's done. Like it so much I purchased another to use when washing this one.

Ordered the Small size, for our 16 year old, 8lb mini schnauzer. We needed this to keep him from licking his underside after an injury. We had been making due with infant one-sies sized for 0-3 month olds.His measurements:Neck circumference: 8 inchesBody/chest circumference: 17 inchesLength along his back (base of neck where his dog collar rests to where his tail starts): 11.5 inches.This turned out to be too large on him, specifically in overall length. Once you place your dogs head and front legs through the front holes, the length of material then runs over their back to the tail of the dog, under their butt, and back up towards their head on the underside of their belly. At the end of this length of material is a built in velcro strap wing, that then gets secured around their body.As shown online, this velcro area is meant to land approximately mid body, but on my dog, even with it secured way up in the area of his neck by his front legs, it was still a tad too long.The size chart guided me to a small size, and I had considered going up one size, but glad I didn’t. If I choose to order this again, I will go down one size. It should be noted that the material does have a lot of stretch to it, like a spandex item, without feeling tight at the same time. I would consider sizing down if on the fence. Otherwise, the legs and head cutouts are nicely done and well placed, and this appears to be a well made product.

This product is not good for restricting dogs from getting to their wound sites. I bought this item because my puppy needed to be spayed and I’d prefer to use something like this over a big plastic cone. However, within the first few minutes of her having it on she was able to bite a hole in the fabric. Due to the fabric being really thin and soft. Unfortunately, the cheap horrid cones that no one likes was a lot more effective.
