Smooth to the touch with a thick fundamental. You can get plenty of bite from them using right hand technique and your bridge pickup (if you have it). Great for fretless or use on a P type to get those classic R&B tones.

They say on package not for through body basses but why else would you need extra long scale? They work, slide nice, keep tune but are finicky (but that could be due to mounting through body so I didn't take anything away for that) when getting to note. If your hands sweat a lot during play make sure to clean your strings after play as they do/will corrode. Not many options for ex long scale and these seem good quality- been in use for 4 months, live gigs 2x a week. Will buy again unless I can find a lighter string somewhere else in ex long scale.
