The tradition of string making dates back to the 1640s in Salle, Italy, where the Mari family supplied gut strings to the famous violin builders of Cremona. In 1913, brothers Olinto & Emilio Mari arrived in New York bringing their family craft to the States. LaBella has been providing great strings for myself, my band and for guitars I've worked on for years. The sound and feel are amazing, very similar to Ernie Ball Cobalts. These specific strings I use on a fan fret 6 string legator with a 25.5in to 26.5in scale in drop G and the tension is perfect. On a regular 25.5in scale guitar you could tune to drop G# with a medium feel tension of roughly 17-18lbs which I think is ideal. These have tons of play time and are super durable from a person who plays extremely hard with a lot of attack.

These strings went on my 1958 Supro Lap Steel. The baritone strings give it an awesome growl and crunch. They also add a rich sound on clean settings.
