First time replacing a nib so I had to watch a youtube video but it was easy (using a piece of tape) and the nib fit perfectly and writes much smoother than a finer size.

I had a mishap with my Lamy Safari and needed to replace the nib. This one was simple to install and fits perfectly and now one of my most treasured pens is writing like a charm again.

Lamy makes a good pen for one who's into pens and ink illustrations.Can't go wrong with a Lamy Safari. Keep an extra fine (nib) pen and a medium (nib) pen in your collection.Smooth working and light weight pen.

I also have the same nib in black fine, steel fine and steel medium. The steel medium writes more like a medium and the black medium.

This does seem to be a genuine Lamy nib, but the one I got was a bit rough. It seemed to have a "crease" or "fold" down the long axis of the nib, as if it'd been squeezed by a pair of pliers or something. As a result, it seems to either write too wetly, or not at all, as it maintains inconsistent contact with the feed in my pen.

Bought this nib for my Safari because the extra fine one my pen came with was Terribly scratchy hoping this one was going to be smoother and score this one was like night and day the Med nib I received writes as smooth as butter like skates on ice plus the black color looks great highly recommend

This replacement nib is also not quite as smooth as the factory installed nib that came with the pen, but perhaps it will smooth out with use. It appears to be in conformation with Lamy's specs, so I think it's reasonable to think that it's legit. The line it draws is a tiny bit more bold than I'm used to from a medium nib, but in a good way, if that makes sense. It has a substantial feel in that it doesn't allow too much flexing with added pressure.
