I've used lots of lang thread chasers. They work great, just be careful not to bottom out the small ones or they'll break. I'd definitely buy them again.

I puchased this exact set in 2017 for a cylinder head replacement/engine refresh on my Toyota Tacoma. By the time the job was complete the size that saw the most use (14 mm, IIRC) was half-destroyed but all the holes I used it in had clean threads and, during assembly, accurate torque applied to same. These tools are NOT for cutting new threads and will not work for that purpose. They will work to repair minor thread damage but if you've badly cross-threaded a hole you'll need to (carefully!) use the appropriate thread tap. They are for cleaning up/'chasing' existing threads. Using these will ensure that there is no debris or material to throw off torque values. I just wish there was more size selection available. To chase the the head bolt holes in the Tacoma engine block it was necessary to modify an old head bolt because Toyota used an obscure, difficult-to-find thread configuration. I searched extensively for a thread chaser to fit the head bolt holes but they are not available or effectively unattainable. Closest thing I could find was that size thread-cutting tap, at a starting price of $85, from only two suppliers. Um, nope-too much: between the high cost and the risk of damaging the engine block, I opted for the safer and much more affordable modification and re-use of what I already had in my possession. But I would have spent $$ to purchase the right size from this supplier (Lang). That is why I've just purchased another set for my latest engine project. Cheap insurance at the price and totally worth it.

These thread restorers were exactly what I needed to install rock sliders on my 4Runner. I can't imagine trying to do the job without them, as the existing threaded holes in the frame, despite washing, had paint and debris in them and did not allow ready installation of the correct sized bolts. These thread restorers worked perfectly for chasing the existing threads, allowing the bolts for the sliders to thread in easily. There is also no worry about cutting new threads when using this set, compared to using a thread tap.

I had high hopes for this seeing how the size I need is not available anywhere nearby. I started to use it very slowly and backing it out gradually while using a lubricant every time I removed it then went back in. Sadly the tap is already cracking and about to snap, so I obviously stopped using it. It is bent and about to break. I will not be stuck with this thing in my car. Very disappointing.

Saved the day with some rusted out frame holes. The one I needed lasted through some serious cranking and looks to have plenty of life left to go.

I've had lug nuts that had a small burr in the threads that made it difficult to start on the stud without cross threading. I ran one of these through from the outside and it now starts effortlessly.
