the core was entirely broken and the key could not turn. I didn't use brute force or do anything bad to my lock, and I think this is purely due to the poor design and quality of this lock. Please avoid this vendor, and please have in mind that it's cheap for a reason.

I bought a Kryptonite U-lock at a store when I first got my e-bike. I found it a little tricky to use and then after only a couple of weeks it got jammed and I could NOT get it open using any of the methods I found online. I gave up and purchased this one, which is less expensive, but is working great. I love the position of the keyhole, which makes it easier to use overall, and it seems to be as sturdy as the Kryptonite. (See another review which tells of a thief taking everything but not able to cut through the u-lock).

I do not clip it to my bike only because there is no room so I just put it in basket. but I really like these two pieces together and I feel confident about them as best as I can and try not to park where people can steal easy.The lock is a little tricky to open but it does not bug me. you have to push it in correctly and it has directions but it seems more solid because of this locking function.I like how I can clamp the solid one around rim and then other wire one around front and connect back.
