I have used laser levels before; both at home and at work. At home I had a level that was not so good; it was more of a laser line and did not last too long. I also did not have too much confidence in it. At work, I used top of the line laser levels. These devices were fantastic but way out of my price range. This laser level is not like either of those, it is not top of the line but also not a toy. It is definitely more than enough for home use and even good for general contractor work – it is quite good.A few things that I like about this level:First - The 3-line laser projects a full 360 degrees but it remains very bright. The brightness can be turned down if you need less bright. It is self leveling with floating mirrors and an internal pendulum that levels itself up to +/- 3 degrees. And, if you need to, it can be put into manual mode for projecting angles. It has both steady and pulse beams which you can turn on or off individually. It has audio feedback that beeps if the unit is out of level or you switch modes. It comes with a charger and not one but two lithium rechargeable battery packs so you can run it all day. Besides the level, it has a remote control fob and the kit comes with various mounting accessories for attaching and setting the level on various surfaces. Finally it comes with a zippered case with foam cutouts for all the parts. In the Amazon description, the Caymuller laser level comes with a 2 year warranty but a card included in the kit says the warranty is 3 years. One final thing I was really happy to see was when I turned off the level using the on/off slide switch, the switch has a mechanism inside the level that locks the pendulum and floating mirrors. This keeps the level safe during transportation and what makes this level even better. The only complaints I have are - the description photos show and the manual gives instructions for two horizontal beams but there is only one horizontal beam - three beams, not four. The manual say the lithium batteries have a battery level display but they don’t. And all the fine screw adjustments on the magnetic bracket, lifting platform, and fine tuning base came dry with no lubrication but that can easily be fixed with a little lithium grease. So all in all, I am very pleased adding this new tool to my arsenal of tools.

It's a 2-way leveler for construction. It uses a green laser, so watch the eyes. Keep kids out of the room when it's on (so they don't gaze into the pretty light and have damaged eyesight). The "Leveling Platform" (the black accessory that has a scissors action to expand and contract) is chinsy and cheap. You can charge one battery while using the other. I cannot comment on battery life, as I only tested it out and haven't used it really. The metal legs are a good touch. They can more easily find level on a dirty floor. And you can fine-tune the leveling on it (each leg can screw in or out a bit). You get a metal plate for attaching to a nonmagnetic surface, so that you get a ferrous plate to let it stick to magnetically (woo hoo).Really, you should just get a tripod like the ones for cameras and use that. If I were in construction, that's probably what I'd do.

I wanted an new laser level with self leveling to hang stuff up on the walls, and i gave this a shot. This level is great. Its got a ton of feature that are handy, though for my needs, are probably overkill. It has 1 horizontal and 2 verticals lines, despite what the manual has depicted. It has a top and bottom 1/4" thread so you can attach it to a camera tripod. It is simple to operate, it has a slide switch on the side that turns the unit off and locks the internal mechanism. There are 3 buttons that allow you to toggle the lines and change brightness, along with the ability to select a manual mode (no beeping), self leveling, what seems to be a preset low/high brightness and flashing. This can all be also done using the remote, which is nice because the buttons on the unit are not very tactile.I was playing around trying to measure the amount of angle it can self level at, and i measured about 5 degrees in total, turns out the manual says it can handle +/-3 degrees. One thing i learned is that the amount of beeping this thing does is pretty annoying. You can put it in 'manual mode' so it doesn't beep. This is accomplished by pressing the center button for a couple seconds. The unit comes with a bunch of stuff:2 batteries, 1 charger, a magnetic hanger, and benchtop tripod, a small lift, wall plate, tripod adapter and remote control.Observations,.The beeping can be very annoying. I wish there was a way to either volume adjust. The mounts with mechanism that rotate the level are not smooth, it would be nice to have better controls. These are clearly minor things, and this level is the best I've seen. Definitely happy to have it.
