this is fabulous so far. My brother is hard of hearing & mentally challenged. His toilet could run for a month & he would not know. Now he can watch the lights & know if the toilet filled properly. We are on a well so the pump was going to burn out. I f we lived in the city, our water bill would be off the rails!!! This is fabulous!!! Volume could be louder. Very easy to install.

I’d had 2 instances where my toilet ran for 2-3 hours because the flapper didn’t go back down correctly. Found this Leak Alertor and wanted to try it. I set it up as directed. That couldn’t have been easier. The first day it recognized a problem even when the flapper sealed. We had a very small leak due to the direction the chain was pulling the flapper up. After adjusting the chain closer to the flush handle so flapper pulls straight up, problem solved. Would recommend this to anyone who has issues with water loss. The only issue I see is that the alarm isn’t very loud. But it sounds immediately when you flush if it detected an issue.

We use well water at our house. Every once in awhile, a toilet flap sticks and sucks all the water out of our well before we know something bad is happening. There is nothing fun about waking up to no water. This device is incredibly easy to install and monitors the toilet tank for slow leaks or a stuck flap. I haven't had a problem since I installed these (I put on on every toilet in the house), but I am sleeping better knowing they are in place. My only minor complaint is the control head sits outside the tank. You can move it so it is out of normal line of sight - but even then it's not the most beautiful thing in the world. Still, as long as it does the job I can overlook the aesthetics.

If the device is giving alarms, its your toilet. I ordered two. One of my toilets is a Kohler with a deep cistern, so the manufacturer replaced the standard unit with a special deep cistern unit. No problem, they were good to do business with. I couldn't get it to stop giving what I thought was a false alarm every few days. But eventually I replaced the "Universal" Korky flapper with the proper Kohler flapper and no more alarms. So the unit was telling me the "Universal" flapper didn't always seat exactly right. You may think nothing is wrong, but its telling you something is not quite right. With the right flapper, its been a couple of months working flawlessly.If the flapper gets caught on the chain, or sediment gets underneath it, or it just gets misaligned then this device will immediately let you know and save you money on water bills. Plus it detects other issues. Every toilet should be equipped with one wherever water is in short supply, in my opinion.

This review is for the leakalerter 6000. We have had two of these for about three months and in that time we have been alerted at least 5 times when out flapper valve failed to seat properly. Each of those times could have costed us some heavy water bills had these devices not alerted us. Yes, we agree that the alarms could be louder, but we still heard them even with the bathroom door closed. They are simple to install. Just be sure to read and follow the directions, or else you might damage the devices. Everything they said in the instructions happened as they said It would. Don't try to take short cuts because you might not get the desired results if you don't do it correctly. It appears to be such a simple design, but it does some pretty cool functions. As far as the price, I feel that they have already paid for themselves by alerting me. I give these 5 stars.Update 2024:We have now had these for two years and they have notified us countless times that the flapper valve was not sealed properly. One of the two units has stopped working properly, but there is a good chance that one of the sensor wires hanging down from the unit may have been scratched by the inside of the tank. The manufactures of the product caution you about being careful when putting the sensors in the tank. As I said earlier in my first review, these units have paid for themselves in alerting us. Water here is very expensive. A leak can easily run up a large bill. So I am buying one more to replace the defective one and maybe a second just to have on hand should the other unit fail. This is great product. I just hope the quality of the product has continued with the new ones.

If this unity worked reliably and the siren were loud enough I would say it is worth the money. However, it was not consistent and complete missed a serious leak I human diagnosed. It has a dainty little siren that is barely audible from the next room. Most people do not sleep near their toilets!! Spend the money on a bore-scope to find the source of the leak and use industrial strength glue and call it a day! Check all the edges! I missed a crack in the very corner of my tank for months! Leave no stone un-turned!
