Leather production processes
Crazy horse leather, is made of large cattle hides by applying a special kind of wax to the already smooth, full grain leather surface.The direct result of a special purpose wax used while processing the leather is exceptional durability and antique appearance of the items made of full-gain leather.
Leather color
As leather is a natural material, please be aware that the shade of the leather hide used may vary slightly from the photo due to the dyeing process - sometimes the leather can be lighter/darker.
Leather Peculiarities
The process of making the leather involves applying a wax to the leather, which gives it a little rubs and scratches. Naturally, while producing, crafting and through wear and tear gets more scratched and shows the changes in the shades of colors. This leather type is valued due to the vintage effect it gives to the products.

NOTEPAD SPECIFICATIONS
The cover comes with Notepad 5x8 inches (13 x 20cm) which is the perfect journal size for day-to-day use. Slim, soft and light - journal suits any occasion. It is not bulky like full-on journals, but a lightweight, portable notepad that is easy to be used on the go.

POCKET AND PEN LOOP
The cover comes with the pocket on the left inside part. Safe place to keep business cards, tiny useful things or office supplies. Enough space to keep the papers you needed while work or study. There also in an elastic pen loop inside the cover, so you can always keep the pen at hand and put down important notes or ideas wherever you go.

I've been looking for basically exactly this for such a long time. I was seriously considering learning leatherworking just to be able to create the perfect padfolio. I've bought and returned several on Amazon--most are not real leather, or are really poorly made and bulky. Even the $200 ones you find online are typically too chunky or have weird design flaws like zippers or impractical extra pockets. This is minimalist, made of decent grain leather, and will age wonderfully.A couple caveats:It's not perfect. (I bring up these small gripes as an act of love for this otherwise amazing product!) For one, I don't think three business card slots are necessary, and it detracts from the otherwise minimalist design. One slot would be perfect. I might cut out the stitching to remove it altogether.Second, the pen slot is a cheap elastic that I doubt will undoubtedly be the first thing to fail. I might cut it off.Pimp it out:There's a third "flaw", which is that it really needs a desk to write on. The writing surface is two layers of leather, which isn't stiff enough for a lap. (The reason I call this a "flaw" and not a flaw is that I'm glad they didn't add some cheap stiff insert that could break eventually.) However, this can easily be solved by slipping a clipboard into the pad slot. No clipboards fit exactly, so I sawed one down to perfect size to live in there.

At first it felt like faux leather with the way it wrinkled but after handling it for a few days it started to finally feel like supple real leather and it's quite a nice home for my little cheap notepads. The wheat color is beautiful and the leather smells nice.

This is a high quality leather notepad that gets better with use. I use it daily and prefer this size over bigger full size padfolios. I keep my business cards in one slot and other people’s cards in the other slot. I carry notecards in the bigger pocket. It’s pretty much perfect.

I love it. I use little notepads like this to take to short meetings and such. I bought the brown one and it matches my watchband, typical belts, etc., and really raises the look of the cheap notepad to a professional level. And, you're never without a pen by using the convenient pen/pencil holder. Just grab the case and go! I've even taken it to pubs and coffee shops as an easy to carry notepad that's more professional (and has more writing area) than a little pocket notebook, but still fits on most tables with room for plates and glasses.

As others have said, the leather and workmanship are top-notch and make it worth the price. It is a little floppy, especially if you don’t put a name brand pad in it though…

The quality of this padfolio is equal to or better than others costing three to four times the price. The leather is a lovely shade of dark brown, supple and soft and held together with an even and attractive lighter brown stitching. It is thick enough to stand up to years of use while getting better looking with age.The pad sleeve is an unexpected, but nicely contrasting shade of deep burgundy suede, with the maker's mark unobtrusively stamped underneath the bottom right of the pad.The sleeve side has the same finish as the outside, with two 45-degree corner cuts at the top and bottom to aid in getting things into and out of the sleeve. The card slots are not in the accustomed bottom edge of the sleeve side, but instead are centered on the sleeve with a "V" at the open end and 45-degree corners echoing the sleeve side.An elastic loop is provided on the inside, near the spine, to protect your writing instrument of choice.My only concern - and this is merely my personal taste - is that the color could be a bit lighter, to better match my other leather accessories (wallet, checkbook cover, etc.); however, I love it the way it is.For under $20 dollars, the workmanship, fit and finish are an outstanding value. If you enjoy fine leather goods, do not pass this padfolio by.

It arrived in record time! It’s extremely soft, yet firm, smells nice, good quality leather. I wanted something to Jot down notes all in one place so they are always together both at my desk and on the road. This is something that I will love to pick up and use every time. It has extra room I an additional 5 x 8 pad on the left side and it still closes nicely. I will never do that but I just wanted to see how much extra room potentially is in there. I did not want anything that zips closed because I just want to get it from my purse when I need to quickly make a note. I love that the front cover can flip completely to the back when I’m on the go making notes. I can’t wait until the leather starts showing lots of character with heavy use in the years to come! I bought locally, 20lb paper for notes, and I like the canary color. But the Amazon basics is decent enough. I think that might be a 15 pound paper, I’m not sure, but it tears off nicely and I noticed my marker pen doesn’t bleed through.
