Maurizio

Worked good until it didn't, broke very easy. Reached out to lee and they are sending me a new one for free. So it may have broke easily but Lee's customer service is awesome

Have primed around 100 rounds and everything worked well for the most part. One thing I didn't realize was that the shell holder it requires is different that the Lee single stage press shell holder. I thought being the same manufacturer, they would take the same shell holder. Nope. So I had to order that before I could get to work. The primers feed into the apparatus reasonably well. Once in a while you have to tap the reservoir to get the primers flowing again. Each cycle doesn't always load up the next primer so you have to look to make sure the next primer fell and is ready to go. It's not perfect but it definitely works. You just have to run a few through it to get the hang of it. I'm happy with it all things considered.

I've literally primed over 5000 rounds so far with this, and love it to death. I would likely never use the priming tool integral of my loader instead. My only gripes about are the size of the primer hopper (a little too small) and the cost. Don't get me wrong... the hopper works, but depending on what brand of primer you get, the primer holding "containers" almost don't fit. Federal for instance has a very large, poorly laid out container (primers sit sideways, but that's another issue). It barely fits without the potential for losing a few primers to the floor as you fill the hopper. If it were slightly larger... this issue would be largely solved. As far as the price goes... I got mine for around $25 about a year ago. Not sure why they almost doubled in price, but $45 is a lot for what this is. It does work very well though, and I'd definitely recommend it.

This thing is awesome, it works perfectly. And it is so much faster than using my press. The only negative is that the primer hopper is a little fragile so be careful that you don't hit it with your arm and snap it off like I did. But I bought replacements directly from Lee. Remember to take the hopper out after you are done with the batch that you are working on.

I love using this thing to prime brass. I bought it to replace my Lee Ergo Primer tool, that thing is great too but 27 years of Marine Corps service gave me some pretty good arthritis, especially in my hands. You really can prime your brass with one finger. I did however have all the problems that the negative reviewers had, when priming 5.56 the brass would eject itself from the holder, to remedy that all I did was hold the brass in place while inserting the primer, PROBLEM SOLVED. The other problem of the feeder tray feeding primers sideways does happen, you have to pay attention to what you are doing and not get into a complacent rhythm. AS YOU SHOULD, YOU ARE WORKING WITH TINY EXPLOSIVES that you hold inches from your face. Just rotate the bench primer away from you so that the handle is facing at 2 o'clock and keep an eye on the feeder, if it feeds in awkward just adjust it with a scribe and carry on. PROBLEM SOLVED. Third I had some instances when the feeder tray would stop feeding primer, just give it a few taps and you are back at it. I will update if I have any more problems that can be easily mitigated. It's quick too, I ran through several hundred cases in less than an hour, with zero cramping in my hands.Disclaimer, I have not been reloading ammo since Christ was a rifleman like some of the other reviewers so what do I know. I was able so solve all the problems pretty quickly and easily.I mounted the bench primer to a 12"x6" piece of 3/4" MDF and it worked perfectly without clamping.

Purchased this Lee Auto Bench Priming Tool just the other day and as of today, have primed 100 rounds of once-fired Hornady match grade brass. Hornady's match grade brass has crimped in primers and I had to remove the crimp from the primer pocket before reloading. This figures into my review.Overall, I really like this product so far. I've used a Lee Precision Auto Prime tool for years without so much as a hiccup. However, the joints at the base of my thumbs have become arthritic and painful. Hence, the purchase of this tool. The long priming lever on this tool provides one heck of a mechanical advantage, allowing for the seating of the primer with ease - very little pressure required. That's great for arthritic hands! The drawback, I suspect, is that when a person places too much pressure on that lever which gives so much mechanical advantage in seating a primer, the pressure created can cause the primer to detonate. I didn't experience this, but it makes sense. In the directions for use of this tool (yes, I actually read them) Lee Precision clearly states: "However, all types of FEDERAL BRAND LARGE PRIMERS frequently caused the entire tray to explode with sufficient force to cause serious and painful injuries." What the heck is up with that?Since I don't know what's up with that, I sent an email to Lee Precision asking them. I just sent it, so they haven't had time to respond. One thing I know about Lee Precision is that they're dedicated to customer satisfaction, so I'm certain they will respond. Now, I said I just primed 100 cases, and I used Federal Primers. I followed Lee's directions and fed each primer indivudually. Hence, the reason I gave this a four star rating instead of five. Feeding the primers one at a time is sort of a pain. But, I did so without any problem whatsoever.Given that the brass I was using had had crimped primers, even though I reamed the primer pockets, they were still tight. I could definitely feel a "bump" on the lever of the priming tool when most of the primers seated; often one "bump" and then a second when the primer was finally seated. I suspect with new brass, this won't be the issue. I think the primers will seat smoothly. However, I also believe the reloader will need to be careful to develop a "feel" for when the primer is seated so as to not apply too much pressure on the lever of this priming tool. If you do, I think it'll cause the primer to detonate.Hence, the warning about Federal primers. Why theirs and no-one else's, I have no idea. When Lee Precision provides an answer, I'll update this. For now, I think this is a really good tool with the caveat that the reloader has to use it with care as you do using any reloading process tool. This ia a tool to be used with finesse and brains, not just muscle and no thought....
