I typically prefer Western Digital (red) over any other brand, but their prices have drastically increased over the past year. I've have had a few Lexar products in the past and decided to try this SDD for my current project. The price was fair for a 1TB. I had no trouble initializing this drive using an external adapter and my old HDD cloned over easily and quickly. This SDD has cut my bootup time to less than 15 seconds for a Windows 8 desktop pc that is about 15+ years old (I perform various upgrades every few years).

I've used these as quick replacements on several older Apple laptops that came with mechanical HDDs and they give a noticeable boost to performance. They're also excellent at replacing the boot HDD of Desktop Servers I've built over the years.

I intended to install this as an extra SSD in my desktop. Unfortunately, this did not come with a data cable, which didn't seem like a big deal... I'll just zip down to Best Buy and get one! Did that. No problem, only when I tried to install it, the computer wouldn't recognize it! After fiddling with the cable setup, I decided to swap the new cable over to my working SSD. Sure enough, didn't recognize and wouldn't boot the computer. Bad cable... Replaced that, and now everything is just fine. Works well, data transfer speeds were identical to my Samsung SSD. No complaints so far!
