Hose reel is well built and solid. I've had it for two years now and it still looks new. It is in direct Texas sunlight, but has no faded. Works great. I just ordered a second for the other side of the house.

I bought this the first time in 2018. I mounted it on the side of my house that gets all day Florida sun. I had to buy another because the old lawn guy ran into it with a mower which tweaked both side/edge guides on the hose reel.Cons - I've noticed the paint or powder coating gradually fading and the rubber on the handle breaking up over time. (However, I'm not sure that I could expect much more considering the all day Florida sun/heat)Pros - When operating the hose reel, I can tell no noticeable difference between the old one that I just removed and the new one that I just installed. I only replaced the leader hose because it came with the new one even though the old one is still in great shape, although slightly faded.Note: My home is made of block and I used 1/4" tap con 4-way (Philips) screws, that I reused, btw.Buying the same one again was a very easy decision.

I love this hose reel. We bought two of them and they are easy to mount and work really well. However, last week, after only using one of them for 2 months, the set screw that holds the handle in the drum fell out, making the handle inoperable. I could hear the screw rolling around inside the drum so I took it apart, retrieved the screw and screwed it back in and now it works fine again. It was very challenging getting that screw back in there. I highly recommend tightening those set screws before you put it into service. There is one at each end of the drum. You can see them by looking through the openings toward the sides of the drum. . Just use an allen wrench to tighten them.

This turned out to be perfect both visually and functionally. I have a heavy weight 75ft hose on it and it handles it with easy. The shelf it is topped with is just right for your hose attachments. The finish is attractive and tough. Beautiful vintage look on the side of my 124 year old farm house.

Install is easy. Solid cast metal construction with smooth bearings for easy cranking. I’m using it with a 100 ft hose and it feels very solid and works great. Has a nice top shelf but I would have preferred they made the shelf a little larger.

I had a similar version of this that sat on the ground that was made of plastic. After about a year it cracked and didn't work properly. Honestly I have gotten really annoyed with all of these cheap yard equipment items that just break after a year. This one was nice and sturdy made out of aluminum and has held up great. I use it with one of those fabric hoses and I think I have like 120 ft on it. My only suggestion is if you use these things really just go for the fabric hose as with those vinyl hoses their rigidity make it a little less usable and you can't fit nearly as much hose on it.It also rolls and unrolls really easily which is nice. The plastic one I had before took a bunch of effort to undo and you had to pull the hose directly perpendicular to it to get it to dispense. Not a problem with this unit. Just make sure you properly mount it to your wall with the appropriate anchors.

I needed a new garden hose reel for my back yard as the old plastic ground-based reel fell apart. After plenty of research, I purchased this one. What an excellent choice. Very well made, super sturdy, and works like a charm. And, it looks great! Love the shelf on top, on which I store extra hose nozzles, the occasional water bottle while moving the lawn, work gloves, etc. In my case, I mounted it to a poured concrete wall using a carbide-tipped drill bit, hammer drill, and tapcon screws. It was really tough getting this screwed all the way in but well-worth it. The only issue, which they do address in their instructions and on the website, is that the leader hose may spin and knot/kink, when it is not supposed to. I shot a bit of silicone spray inside the mechanism which they suggest and all is now good. Pulling the hose out is a breeze. And to my pleasant surprise, reeling it back up is equally easy. I did not want the model that has the worm screw that makes the hose coil a certain way. Instead, I use my hand to guide it when reeling it in. I also selected this one since it is unlikely to rust (cast aluminum?). Love this hose reel, the way it looks, and how easy it is to pull out the hose and reel it back in! I highly recommend this.

Design was decorative & pleasing. Appears sturdy, bled over 100’ hose , handle functioned quite easily & quickly.I had previously bought this brand & it has held up well over the last 5 years. However the older model had an additional advantage in that it was able to wind the hose evenly back & forth across the reel. I think that was a good feature & am not sure why they discontinued that feature.

Love the sturdiness and the antique look. Only downside is the crank does not lock. If the hose and nozzle is too heavy it unfurls. I had to rig a bungy cord to secure the crank so the hose would stay in place. If they have one that has a lock for the crank recommend getting that one instead.

Toller Schlauchhalter, Blickfang im Garten! Wirkt hochwertig verarbeitet und ließ sich leicht an der Wand befestigen. Leider, leider undicht an der Verbindung zum Gartenschlauch. Mit Gewindedichtfaden geht es. Preis ist natürlich völlig überzogen :) Leider habe ich keine günstigere ansehnliche Alternative gefunden, die nicht neontürkis/grün/orange ist.

This was a direct replacement for an almost identical product probably installed around 25 years ago (they could have been produced by the same factory in China but with a different brand name). It looks like a quality item and the supplied hose for connecting the reel to the faucet even came with better than average quality couplings. One of the images in the image gallery showed the spacing for the mountings. These matched my previous hose reel so I was able to install it on the previously installed brick/masonry anchors. Obviously, this simplified the installation in my case but I've rated the "Easy to Install" aspect based on having to start from scratch. Obviously, the installation shouldn't be attempted without appropriate tools particularly if being installed on a brick/masonry wall.
