The wires have a small knot at each end to secure them in the slot of the cheese slicer. All of these wires failed after only a few uses - the “knot” is not strong enough to hold the wire in place. Totally useless!

We’ve been using the Osti cheese cutter for a while and we really like it, but the wires don’t seem to last that long and one of the wires from the most recent package of replacement wires broke - or one of its’ anchor knots untied - almost immediately. They need to use thicker wires and not cut the ends too close to the anchor knots. Or maybe they are just trying to sell a lot of replacement wires... 2 stars for durability and/or manufacturing quality.

Perfect-fit replacement wire for the Osti wire cheese slicer. The first time I used the wire cheese slicer, I loved the extraordinary idea behind it - the cheeses that don't crumble , but stick to flat-blade knife, can be cut perfectly and allow for a great presentation with the wire slicer.Wires do break. So, grab anew one, and keep cheesing! Replacing is not trivial (wife hates doing it), but I (3-degrees engineer) do it in 90-seconds-flat, so life is back on track, and whine (pardon, wine) is not cheese-less :)

I found the handle to my favorite, but, unfortunately, broken, cheese slicer rattling around in my gadget drawer and through the magic of Google discovered it is a WMF Profi product. I did not find a seller for WMF brand wires, but these looked like they would work, so I ordered a set. They seemed slightly thinner than I remembered the old set being but I happily put the first wire on, got about four slices off a block of swiss cheese, and broke the wire. One of the comments I read advised you should not have the wire too tight, so I am leaving a smidge more slack this time and we will see how things work out.The original wire lasted many years and saw a lot of use, I am hoping for better results from the second try with the Osti brand. *fingers crossed*

The stuff pictured is not what the product is. These are wires for the Linden Sweden Osti Cheese Cutter. My wife bought one these slicers years ago as Pampered Chef branded item. Eventually, the wire broke (it is a wear item). We could not find replacement wires. For several years, I made half-assed replacements from fishing wire. It worked, but not as well as the real thing. When I found the slicer and replacement wires on Amazon, I bought a lifetime supply.

We took a chance on buying these replacement wires for our favorite cheese cutter. By golly, they work! Not so with wires from other sources or "we can't help you with that" responses from local gourmet cookware stores where the motive is to sell you a new cutter. Our goal was to repair our old one, not buy new.

I received one of these cheese slicers at least 30 years ago and it was the best cheese slicer I have ever used. Unfortunately, after a few years of use, the wire broke. Although I never found replacement wires, I kept the slicer in a kitchen drawer.One day I decided to try Amazon and found the wires! They fit!I now have my cheese slicer back.A small thing maybe but very rewarding.Best thing is, It came with 3 wires so I still have 2 replacements!
