I bought this mostly for the mic, as the cable the came with my IEM's didn't have one. And it's fine it does the job. The cable is pretty nice too I like that the 3.5 connector is straight so it doesn't get stuck on my pocket.

I added these to a set of Kiwi Cadenza IEMs to add a microphone. In addition to getting the mic, these also improved sound quality over the lower-end stock IEM cable supplied with the Cadenzas.

When it wasn't broken it worked beautifully. Great sound for music and gaming, but the plug in felt cheap. Well today I went to pull the cord out of my phone and it popped. Somehow part of the plug broke inside the phone and left a piece in it. Thankfully with some tweezers I was able to get it out of my phone. If it didn't break so easily just by pulling it out of my phone. These would be 5 stars.

This cable was purchased by me and this review is solely my opinion. To begin, in ear monitors for the most part share a common weakness: their cables. While IEMs have made amazing sound affordable for the masses, cables have simply not kept up. Audiophiles will argue about the merits of upgrading cables in terms of sound. The truth is that laboratory testing has shown over and over again that cables have very little impact on sound except in certain rare cases where you might have very low impedance speakers. So why upgrade that dinky little cable that came with your sweet new IEMs?Every time you run a wire to connect one piece of equipment to another, you create failure points. If the wire is cheap and thin with poor insulation, the wire itself is likely to quickly fail. The connectors for your left and right speakers have to be properly soldered or you will have one of your earpieces cutting out. The connector to your source has to be properly manufactured as well whether it be 2.5 mm, 3.5 mm or 4.4 mm. The plating on the pins needs to be thick enough because it is that plating that prevents them from corroding which will interfere with the electrical connection. The insulation of the cable also needs to be sealed at these pivotal locations to prevent moisture from getting in and causing corrosion. If you have a microphone and switch in your cable you have more failure points! You can add to these technical reasons appearance and comfort of your cable. All of these are reasons for you to upgrade that stock little wire that your local dollar store might sell as well. So now we come to the meat of it. How about the Linsoul C8 8-Core Silver Copper Foil Braided Earphone Replacement Upgrade Cable? First I'm going to get appearance and comfort out of the way. As it comes from the manufacture, it looks beautiful. The braids are thick and supple, and contrary to what some people here have found I thought it was extremely comfortable to wear. This includes the year loops. Being thicker it resists tangling and doesn't seem to have that nasty memory effect. (Learning how to properly coil your cable can also help minimize memory effects.) I ordered the cable with the microphone option. This switch seems better made than most I have used, and you feel positive clicks when you press the buttons. For this price range on Amazon ($30), I find the length a little disappointing โ€“ it seems to be about 6 inches short for my liking and that's wearing in the front because of the microphone. If you were wearing this link cable down your back as is traditional, I think that could cause problems. You don't want to be pulling on all those connections mentioned in paragraph two! Another problem for users who buy this for their smart phones might be the fact that jack is straight rather than having a 90ยฐ bend. If you slide your phone down in your pocket it won't be long till something goes wrong. It is also missing proper pliable strain reliefs at the juncture where the cable goes into the metal at the earpiece connectors. This could easily become a point of failure with continued use. One more point of contention is where the cable connects to the earpiece. I used the KZ ZS10 PRO for my examination because it is listed as being compatible with this cable in the ad description and it is made by the same manufacturer. So the connection should be perfect, right? Actually, I believe a sheath of some sort should have been made so that it slides down over the pen receptacle on the earpiece. That would've strengthened the physical connection making it less likely that your pins would be damaged or broken over time, and it would also have prevented any possibility of moisture from shorting out that connection. Just think about it if you're working out and that connection is sitting against your ear and touching your hair. All it would take is one little drop of sweat! Simply designed the connection with 1/8 of an inch more material to slide over the connection. Not doing this is simply poor engineering. It's sloppy.Having said everything above, if I'm buying this cable with a microphone for front use and not sliding my phone down in my pocket, my first thought is overall I'm very satisfied with the purchase. I know that I can make a significant upgrade to my stock IEM cable for $10 less on the same website, but I am hoping that this extra expenditure for an unbalanced cable will buy me better craftsmanship. I mean after all, this is an eight core Silver Copper foil braided upgrade! Silver, that's like jewelry quality, right? But there is something lurking in the depths that needs to be discussed. I have researched this cable and found that new users seem to be very satisfied in general just like I was. But you're not buying a cable to leave it sitting in the box looking all pretty. You are buying it because you like music and you want your music to sound good and to be there when you hit play. Maybe you're in a perfectly sanitized environment like waiting forever in your doctor's office where the AC sucks all that humidity out of the air. Or, maybe you're wearing nothing but two day-old underwear and walking/running on your treadmill at home. These are expected in ordinary uses of an everyday item like an IEM cable.Users who have had this cable for a period of time have complained over and over again of a persistent problem โ€“ the dreaded O word. Okay, some of you are thinking of the wrong word. Please focus for a few more moments! Oxidation. And for some of these users this nasty problem came very quickly โ€“ beginning within days at the ends of the cable! What does oxidation do? For one thing, it turns your beautiful cable a very ugly green. Think kind of like mold, which is appropriate because moisture causes both. Plain copper oxidizes very quickly when exposed to any kind of moisture. Many people have uploaded pictures showing what appeared to be the entire length of the cable having turned this horrible green. Now apparently in a number of cases Linsoul has responded to these customers basically saying that this is perfectly normal, or in other words it's the customers' fault. The former can be said honestly: ordinary copper forms copper oxide when it oxidizes, and copper oxide is not conductive! So that really screws with your sound. And if that happens the sound will continue to degrade further as time goes on. The latter, in my opinion, is the worst kind of passing the buck. You are on Amazon because Amazon is known for good pricing. And you are paying a substantial premium for a basic unbalanced cable because you're assuming that it has better quality than the thousands of cables which you can get for under $20. Again, I refer you to paragraph two. "The insulation of the cable also needs to be sealed at these pivotal locations to prevent moisture from getting in and causing corrosion." I just opened this cable and have used it one time to make sure there were no obvious defects. So my cable has no such corrosion as of yet, but I did use a high-powered magnifying glass to look at all of the connectors and the ends of the microphone switch. It is quite obvious that these are poorly sealed, there are significant openings where the braids cross one another leaving literal valleys where water could enter. And frankly, common sense alone tells us a thicker braid means there are bigger gaps at the connectors that need to be sealed to prevent moisture from entering, i.e. the thicker the braid the greater the need for the manufacturer to waterproof these junctions. Now I wonder if this is simply something that Linsoul has known about and decided not to act on. They say to those who have complained that this will in no way affect the performance of the product. Almost as if it was designed to turn into this deformed green braid as if you had vines running into your ears. I wonder this because of the product description โ€“ that Silver Copper foil. Don't assume that you have a mix of silver wires and copper wires. You have copper wires with a miniscule coating of silver. Now if they were cutting corners why would they add that Silver? For one thing, if you're familiar with electroplating, you'll know how tiny the quantities of precious metal can be. For the other, silver also oxidizes, however unlike copper oxide silver oxide remains conductive. It might still affect conductivity, but it will be less of a factor in performance degradation. So the silver might allow Linsoul to claim, as they have on numerous occasions, that the oxidation has no effect on performance. I would like to see proof of that claim, however on the face of it there is some merit. This leads to another part of the problem which I haven't seen discussed but having ran a computer business and being involved in electrical wiring for over one quarter of a century I can't help but go to. If water is getting in at those connectors, it isn't just running into the cable wiring. It is also getting on the connections made within the connectors. So while Linsoul says the oxidized cable is "normal," they don't mention the damage that is going on inside your 3.5 mm jack or inside your earpiece connections. They don't mention what's going to happen to that microphone switch. You don't make a product which is designed to be worn in a variety of environments that is so vulnerable to water damage. Especially considering so many people love to listen to music while they work out. This seems to be a fatal flaw. And frankly one which flabbergasted me because the fix would be inexpensive and simple. So where does that leave us? I bought this basically to test it out. I was curious to see if this product really offered the value that it seemed to. If you're wearing this in the front, if you never shove your phone down in your pocket, if you never sweat or walk outside on a humid day, you might've just found the perfect IEM cable! It sounded fine, but as experts will tell you that cables except in very rare circumstances have no real effect on the sound profiles or quality. It looks beautiful, but honestly I suspect that even with great care taken if they are worn often they will end up turning green. And at that point, I will consider them garbage.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------FYI, I wrote this review but held it before posting it so I could send it to Linsoul/Tripowin and give them a chance to give their side of the story. What I hoped to hear from them is that they have recognized these problems and they have resolved themselves to fix them and make this the terrific product I think it could be. I have received no reply to date. And for everyone who reads, thank you for taking the time. Your feedback is always welcome!

Edit 5/28/24: Seller quickly reached out and offered a refund or replacement, as the cable was still within the 1 year warranty period. Since I do like the cable itself, I went ahead and opted for a replacement cable. They quickly sent out the replacement.Updating this review from 3 stars to 5 stars, as the warranty covers my main concern of durability/quality control. I now recommend the product given the warranty coverage, weight, feel, color, and features of the cable....Original Review: The cable itself feels and looks great. Unfortunately, after 3 months of use I've started to experience microphonics (buzzing/static interference from external vibrations) whenever the cable brushes against my shirt. It also seems isolated to my right earbud, which has the mic attached to the cable, so it could be an issue exclusive to that model. Some microphonics is inevitable, but this is rather severe. It has also begun to get progressively worse as time goes on. Would not recommend for the price. Going to try out the Zonie and see if I have a better time.

I have KZ earbuds. They came with an upgraded cable, that unfortunately, (or fortunately in my case), was starting to wear out. I was looking for a "premium" cable that also had a microphone. This is for my phone, and besides using it for music, I also use it to telephone calls. The bass is fuller, and not boomy or over powering. If it is there you hear it, no matter how weak or strong. With the original cable it could sound strained. The mid range is very clear and balanced. The highs are also very clear without sizzle.I highly recommend this cable if you like listening to quality music, and also want it to double for phone calls. The only drawback that I have is the earbuds occasionally separate from my cable while taking them out of the case. It would be nice if the connector had a sleave that went over the connection area of the earbuds to help secure their connection.

This cable made a massive difference to my IEMโ€™s sound, so much more fuller sound. Excellent buy. Only slight criticism is I would prefer the cable length to be a bit longer, I find itโ€™s quite restrictive.

The pandemic lockdowns have me caged up and on calls all day. The BLON BL3 headphones were my constant companions and combined with a Blue mic and Logitech BRIO camera, the situation was fine, and no complaints from my video coworkers. But then after one final horrible tangle with the original cable, I upgraded to this one and my goodness it is like going from mono to surround sound. The original cable is terrible. This one (0.78x2) has a sturdy appearance and satisfying heft so my hope is it will serve well. I'll update if it fails.
