I have used this pump for almost 8 years, and it still does a great job. Whether I am pumping water off the top of my pool cover or emptying my spa, the little giant doe a great job!

I have used these pumps for the past 18 years and have had mostly success in longivity. I use them in water displays and we use to get them to last about 3-4 years running constantly. The last 2 have made it just over 1 year and the one I bought here in july is already failing. Cheap seals that let the mineral oil out and water in which trips the gfi. Little giant needs to fix this. I'm going to try the warranty route but might not be worth the time. Price you pay for buying on Amazon and not a brick and morter.

The last 2 times I bought this item it lasted nowhere near as long as in the past. Most recently, it lasted a little over a year, so no longer until manufactuer's warranty. I bought the extended warranty from another seller, but there are too many hoops to jump through.

Arrived quickly and well packaged. This pump is fully submersible with a strong pumping capacity that will drain hot tubs or really most any area where water needs to be removed. It has even successfully pumped out muddy water. Though, don't recommend placing the pump directly on soft muddy ground (could potentially clog the intake screen on bottom of unit). These pumps are built well as I also used to pump out a 22,000 gallon swimming pool. It took about 2.5 - 3 days, yet it completely did the job. Liked this little pump so much that I bought two of them.

They work fine but at least in our pond they seem to die after 3-4 years and need to be entirely replaced which seems wasteful.

GREAT little pump. Bought this one to replace one just like it that lasted 3 years before motor gave out and paint flaked off corroding cast zinc housing. I don't leave it sitting out over the winter on the pool cover anymore so that it is not standing in water so much. I'll put it onto the pool cover only when needed to remove accumulated rain water. 1/6 hp is more than enough to really deliver the gpm to clean off the pool cover quickly.Customer service is great, helpful and polite. {Replacing parts when/if needed, often for free on the auto switch)

We have a lakeside shed with ornamental plantings around it and around our dock. I bought this for my wife to water her plants with a hose, using lakewater as source. She attaches a garden hose to it, drops the pump into the lake, then plugs it in (to a GFCI receptacle) and waters away! In our application, it has to lift only about 6 ft, and it supplies a perfect flow for hand-watering. I don't think it would develop enough pressure to run through a sprinkler head, but that's not what we're trying to do.

This is a great little pump. The price was a little painful until you find out that not all the pumps out there can operate correctly at the end of a long extension cord. The first one I bought locally was designed for sump operation and wouldn't work. This one works great. I use it to drain the pool during high downpour/rainstorms. This little guy can remove around an inch an hour even with moderate rain coming down. Very important when you are worrying about the pool overflowing and water coming toward the house.
