Easy to mount and perfect for small light items. If you are using it for towels, only one large one or a couple small ones will work. Otherwise it sags too much.

My husband installed it for me, it only took him 5 minutes. I don’t put a lot of weight on it but it looks and feels pretty sturdy. I mostly use it for the kids bamboo pjs that cannot be dried. I don’t think I would live without one again.

Very disappointed with the product as the write up gave a good description of the item. The wire is not steel as stated, it is a flimsy nylon chord that could break easily. Overall very inferior quality.

Bought to hand a sheet curtain outside on a gazebo. Does the job, low profile + nice aesthetic. Wire strength couldn’t take something heavy like towels for example but it does what I need easily. Retracting function is sticky / would be easily broken if extended and retracted regularly.

I've used a hanging rack for a number of years and I'm always annoyed with items that are too long or having too many items to get on it comfortably and having to employ hangers as a supplement.I saw this and decided to give it a shot. The directions were relatively clear, although I had a bit of a question of which side of the anchor plate went which direction because it really only gives you a picture and that's not 100% clear. But, a little common sense very easy to install and if you can use a screwdriver and a hammer, you're golden. The widest part of my bathroom is over the tub. I have a slightly curved ceiling in my bathroom so even though it made more sense to mount the catch in the shower area and the base on the curved side, I mounted the catch on the curved side so as not to be entirely unsightly. That can make it a little tricky securing the line, but that's easily solved by clipping a clothes pin in the hole it slides in and out of until you tighten the tension and hang an item on it.And once you tighten the tension it's not going anywhere. Pay attention to the fact that it says it works best when mounted at the maximum length and look for approximately 9 ft of distance on which to mount it.Ultimately, this is the greatest thing I've spent money on in a good while, very, very useful.

Using outside for pool side towels, etc. Works well, mounting screws very small & a bit difficult. So far, stainless holding up with no signs of rust.

Why you don't have longer ones, expensive to the subject itself

There are several choices in these types of units but I chose this one because the wall clip did not have screw heads showing once installed which would be great for a shower install.I gather that it was a two piece clip with a nice clean cover that slid over a mounting piece to hide the screw heads . Emailed the vendor asking if it was available as pictured with no reply.

Does not retract for crap. Sags if you put more than a shirt on a hangar on it. Only good thing about it is that it’s round because I like round things. You’re better off with a donut. That’s round too and not a piece of crap like this. Breaks if you put any weight on it. You'd be better off just throwing your wet clothes on the floor because that's were they will wind up anyhow.

After reading other reviews I installed this with drywall anchors that were rated at 75 lbs in 1/2" drywall and so far it has worked well. I have put 5 damp shirts on hangers on the line several times. The locking mechanism works pretty well although I have to twist it hard sometimes to be sure it is locked. Initially it was difficult to pull the cable out sometimes. I put a drop of lubricating oil on the threads and cable reel being careful not to lubricate the wire itself and that helped bot problems.
