I bought this to use for the space bits of Starfield (which it turns out doesn't have native HOTAS support, but there are workarounds you can find on YouTube). Once I got everything mapped out, it was a blast to use!I do have to say, the driver set-up wasn't as intuitive as I'm used to, and the program they give you to map the controller has been seriously degraded over the years as they've gotten rid of features for . . . reasons, I guess? The LCD screen has effectively been made pointless as the part of the program made to interact with it (like updating the time) have been completely done away with. And the owner's manual is almost entirely useless since they haven't bothered updating it since it originally launched, even though the drivers and launcher have been changed dramatically in the meantime. Just another baffling series of decisions by Logitech, I guess. But the controller itself is pretty awesome. I just wish the company that should still be supporting it weren't so short sighted and greedy. Also, all the comments of people complaining about the LCD not lighting up are from people not using powered USB slots. Make sure it's a slot that get a decent amount of juice, because shockingly, you need power to make the lights come on 😱

I bought this joystick and after a week of use, it started to malfunction. When I try to move it forward, it has extreme sensitivity, which causes me to lose control of the aircraft. This device doesn’t work; it wasn’t repaired properly—very poorly repaired with terrible service. I do not recommend buying it. I live in the Dominican Republic, and returning the equipment doesn’t work here. The cost to return it is $100, which is an absolute abuse. I recommend that, even if it looks nice and functional, you should be very careful and better off buying it new. It’s been a horrible experience. I tried different drivers and configurations with no results. It’s a waste of money and time. It’s better to save up a little and buy a new one; it’s worth it, Now I'm left without the money and with a defective device.

The original HOTAS had a problem with the joystick portion. The seller sent me a new set immediately! Can't say enough good things about this seller. the product was good too.

Like a lot of the other reviewers, I used to have a Saitek X52 prior to the Logitech buy up. It was the non professional model with the silver. Looked sleek. I bought it for Elite Dangerous and it was one of the best purchases I'd ever made. Then, I moved, and it broke. I was upset, and I never got reimbursed for it. So I hadn't played Elite much since then. Saw this renewed, excellent condition Professional HOTAS and I jumped on it.It arrived in original box, with all the packing and everything. It looked brand new, I couldn't see a single blemish on it. The only part that was problematic was the ps/2 cable that connects the HMD to the stick, but using my edc knife I was able to bend the bent pin back into place and it works flawlessly. Yes, HMD display does not illuminate. Unplugging it and plugging it back into the USB port resolves this, but that's tasking. I'm gonna test with a powered USB hub to see if this helps, because I have read that if you aren't plugging it directly into your motherboard's USB ports, it isn't getting enough power to supply the display lighting. I'll come back an edit in a few days.Update: I got my powered USB hub and it works wonderfully to keep the MFD lighting on. In fact, I have to unplug it when my computer is off to stop the lighting from illuminating the room, so this lends credence to the idea that powered USB ports are necessary for the lighting. Bear in mind though, you can absolutely run this thing without those lights. It's not a big deal.I have not reached out for a replacement cable.

I think my excitement was brought down by the fact that the throttle control unit was faulty on delivery, the LCD display is not lighting up like in the photo which makes it hard to see. The rest of the item is working nicely, some play on the joystick but not affecting your flighti am hoping they will resolve it
