This crochet kit for the three dogs comes with everything you need to finish the project. It is all packaged in a neat little box and keeps it all together.Albeit a nice package, this kit is not for beginner crocheters.I started looking at the project video first and quickly realized that I would need to practice learning the simple stitches first as the demonstrator is not able to show the stitches well enough because her fingers get in the way so you cannot clearly see what she is doing. The video quality is also a little bit blurry.The videos that show the individual stitches that can be scanned and watched on YouTube are of much better quality. I did have to find another video to help me with the magic ring though. I also obtained a worsted weight yarn and a larger hook as the yarn and hook that comes with the kit is way to small for a beginner to see where to insert the hook to make certain stitches. In order to use this yarn and make these cute little dogs, I am first doing a practice run using my own larger hook and yarn. The pattern is easy to read and understand. I also have no issues understanding the demonstrator in the videos.I think that once I become more confident with my crochet skills, I will then use the yarn and hook this kit came with to crochet these dogs.I do think that this crochet kit is very nice, but it should not be marketed to beginner crocheters.

I am teaching my four granddaughters how to crochet. They have been asking for a year or two, but I wanted to wait until they were all at least 6. Now they are 10, 9, 7, and 6. I got a bunch of these, and I am showing them all how to crochet. They have been having a blast. I would recommend these if you have grandchildren who want to learn to crochet.

These are so cute. I did this as a project with my niece. It's a bit more than what we have tried before so it was nice to work together through the challenges (we aren't naturally crafty people). These are so cute and she's excited to hook a key chain on so she can add it to her backpack. A good value for your money, easy to use (unless you're us, hehe! you probably aren't), she had a ton of fun and so did I!

I picked up this kit because I'm a dog mom and wanted to learn how to crochet. I saw it was listed as a beginner kit and thought it would be perfect. Well, I was wrong.It's not all bad, as I found the needle quite comfortable to hold and the video links inside the instruction booklet led me to some very useful and informative YouTube videos. I'll use these for sure.The problem lies with the yarn. It's not so much yarn as more of a thick thread. It's very thin and unravels quite easily which makes handling it hard for an absolute beginner. The stitches are incredibly small and hard to see which makes it difficult when moving from a chain stitch to a single crochet since you have to run the needle back through your previous stitches. Maybe if I wasn't 50 years old and had the eyesight of an eagle.. but I don't. I will attempt to follow this pattern but I invested in a set of hooks so I have a 4 and 5mm instead of the included 2mm and have ordered some "beginner friendly" yarn to make the stitches easier to see.If you know what you're doing and have worked with thinner yarn, this would be a cute little kit to use and the amount of items included seems worth it, I just can't recommend it for a beginner.

Not exactly for beginners. This might be better suited for those who are familiar with specific types of crochet stitches (i.e. chain stitch, slip stitch, etc.) Otherwise, the user has to first learn the stitches in order to then read the stitch instructions (very similar to the way that you have to understand what music notes mean in order to read sheet music). This isn't great for beginners and certainly wouldn't be suited for children for this reason.

I am fairly new to crocheting and this kit was so helpful in getting me more comfortable. It comes with everything you need to start and good instructions. The end products are so cute and you can give them to a kid or use them as decoration. It has stayed together well. I would buy this kit again for a beginner.

The kit provided enough yarn to make all three dogs. Some minor issues I had ended up being that the instructions had a round missing. This is what I did to fix it (which might be wrong, but im still learning crochet) the snout.The snout ended up being too small and almost laid flat on the head. I would recommend adding an additional round of 32 at the end.Mouth/Nose:[ADDED] Round 5: 3sc after the last (2sc,inc).[ADDED] Round 7: 1ch,32sc, ss.Missing from instructions:Sewing:Tail:Instructions are missing on where to sew it. I just made it look centered off the head and between the two hind legs.Other than those small issues I enjoyed making this. I learned how to make that cute little nose and it actually turned out great.Video instructions are good but they also lack some instructions on how to do certain things. All in all the kit is well made. Materials are better then expected and presentation of the kit was nice, especially for the price they are asking for at the time of purchase.Missing from instructions:Sewing:Tail:Instructions are missing on where to sew it.
