Fun crochet kit. It includes everything needed to complete the projects as well as directions and was fairly easy to complete, though if you are an absolute beginning with crochet watching a few instructional videos and practicing basic stitches before attempting this kit would be helpful.

Got this as a gift for our daughter who loves to do crafts.I remember learning weaving/yarn work as a kid from my Grandmother so thought my 11 year old would like to try this.She did like it and picked up the idea fairly quickly after watching the video. It takes only a little bit to learn how to do it then it's up to the kid to work through the project.For the price this is a great way to get started and learn something new.

It is for a beginner which I understand and wanted to try. But way smaller than I expected so it was a little hard. And as a beginner knowing nothing instruction videos were very confusing and I had to rewatch ALOT of times.

We got the hippo crochet kit. It comes with everything needed to complete the project, plus stitch markers. It says it’s for beginners, but it’s not the simplest project you could start with. That said, it is still on the simple side, and will give good foundation practice for crocheting in the round and creating stuffable shapes. The instructions may be too vague for someone who is doing this as a first project, but the video links are helpful here. The videos are short, but contain one of the best tutorials I’ve seen for making the ‘magic circle’. The instructor moves and speaks slowly and clearly enough to follow. The kit is a good value, price-wise, and the project is very cute. May be frustrating for a young child, but a teen or adult beginner should be able to get through it with enough determination. There are no difficult stitches in this project.

I think the instructions are fairly easy to follow, but I’m pretty disappointed with the yarn quality. It splits into different threads, making it super hard to keep track of stitches/where you are in the crochet pattern. I chose this pack as an alternative to the more expensive version, but after ordering the competitor - I feel like the extra money was worth the lack of frustration due to the yarn.
