My kid is starting out with instructional-level "coach pitch" baseball and I wanted to see how he did with a wood bat. The grip is skinnier than a metal bat and it has a great balanced feel.++You will need to put something on the grip or kids will accidentally throw it- guaranteed. Wood bats were not allowed in the Little League when I played in the 90's for this reason. There are many bat grip products on the market. You will need one of those too if you're planning on actually playing baseball with this.Final answer: kids in the 7-10 age range don't have much hand speed developed yet, so a heavier bat will help them hit farther. This bat is a really great value and I loved watching my kid in his first game ever rip the first pitch he saw all the way to the fence with this.

I bought this and a few other baseball related items for my son(13) for Christmas trying to get him interested in something other than video games❤️ it worked great🥰 very good price for the name and quality of the bat🙏🏼 would definitely recommend (26oz for the person who asked me a couple of days ago, and now can't find where to answer)
