URLWALL timing cover alignment tools allow a safe, easy way to install the seal—by lightly tapping on the tool with soft rubber mallet. These specialized tools are designed to center the front or rear timing cover when it's installed to provide the correct alignment to the centerline of the crankshaft, and to help avoid seal leaks at the front or rear damper cover when installed. Installation Instructions:
1.Method 1 (seal installed in cover):
Install the new front cover seal into the front cover
Loosely install the front cover
Install the seal tool over the snout of the crankshaft (using the small end)
Check the alignment to the oil pan
Tighten the front cover bolts to specifications
2.Method 2 (no seal installed in cover):
Loosely install the front cover
Install the seal tool over the snout of the crankshaft using the large end
Check the alignment to the oil pan
Tighten the front cover bolts to specifications
Install the balancer lip seal"

Got the cover back on my ls1 using this tool, time will only tell if it worked properly. This tool fits timing cover with front seal installed.

This tool is used to align the cover WITH the seal in place. It's not really needed since you likely have the pulley/balance in hand that you can use instead. To be a true alignment tool it needs to align the cover with no seal, then the seal gets installed. That's the point of these tools. I gave it high stars because it does fit inside the seal and seems to be well made. Just not really what's being advertised. Should have looked at the pictures more closely I guess.

Did a full refresh on a C5 Corvette and replaced the front seal. This alignment tool made the alignment much easier.

Great for ls timing cover installs did a cam install on camaro with a different alignment tool and it leaked switched over to this sealed Right up
