This has been a great card, however with that said on a Windows 7 64 bit PC the software installation was a bit tricky to set up correctly. I do have the key for the additional features. LSI had great support! Awesome actually. I have 8 Western digital 3TB Green Drives broken into two Raid 5 setups. (Note LSI doesn't recommend the Green Drives for this controler) I do have it set up to use two 265 GB Samsung 840 pro SSD enhance the speed. It works great on smaller transfers under 200 GB however I back up two TB of data every week as i use it for the onsite backup for my server files. The battery has recently failed and had two of my 8 original green drives fail however rebuild went well. I also have four other SSD on the system i work from. If you have the same set up call LSI and ask them to guid you on the installation to make sure you set it up correctly the first time as this card required to do an additional driver to set up correctly so once you know that it's perfect.

Card requires additional software to open up advanced features. Of course, software is impossible to purchase and LSI customer service is useless.

Bought this to replace an Adaptec 51245 (I think) that had caused all kinds of strange issues. But we were impressed, because not only did this controller work properly (the things IT guys are happy about these days, lol), but it also works extremely fast.
