Being able to have 12 hours of UV-A/B and 12 hours off, (or your desired amount) without affecting the temperature of hot and cold areas, makes reptile care a lot easier.Works great for former aquariums converted to terrariums.

The packaging on this was top notch. The bulbs last a long time too. Keep in mind the UV output drops off after 2000-4000 hours typically by about 60%, but that's just physics, nothing to be done there. The light however remains bright for many many years after that (my last one is still going strong after 10 years.) So they are still useful for non UV critters.

When initially receiving the bulb, it was broken in half (probably due to the delivery, not the company itself), so I requested a replacement and it came within a week. May buy again so long that the bulb lasts 6mo+
