Admittedly, my experience fishing with this lure is limited to two reservoirs in the San Juans, but it enabled me to catch a good number and variety of fish over the course of 4 days - rainbows, cutbows, brookies, browns, and kokanee salmon. I tried other classic and proven lures, but the Super Duper was the only one they were interested in. I used the silver on sunny days and the gold on cloudy days.The only negative I found it’s that the hook started to bend after quite a bit of use. I’m willing to deal with this shortcoming, since the hooks are replaceable, and the lure is effective.

When I used to use spin fishing for trout some 35 or more years ago, I always selected a Super Duper in gold or silver. The wobbly flash drove trout crazy and went after it every time. Even though I took up fly fishing, I've never forgotten how effective the Super Duper is.
