- Answer: Bookends are cut from whole log walnut, not any spliced wood. Wood is fine walnut, pure color, is a good home decoration crafts.
- Q2: What is the load-bearing capacity of the metal base of the walnut book ends?
- Answer: The metal base is embedded in walnut wood and has good stability. The 7-inch-tall book ends is tall enough to hold hardcover books or binders . As for the slipping, may be placed too few books, only a book stand load-bearing, the whole structure does not have balance.
- Q3: Could the metal base will scratch the bookshelf or desk? Will the furniture be damaged?

Really strong and hold weight. I bought these for my daughters record collection so they could stand up but nothing was strong enough to not slide under the weight of the records. Super strong!

This set of book-ends are stylish, heavy and work great for a minimal but aesthetically pleasing style on any bookcase. I am really impressed with the weight of them. So far they are working out quite nicely.

These are sturdy bookends, I'm using them to hold large hardback cooking books and they work really well. Keep the books together and upright with no issue. The grain on the wood is really nice with a good finish. They are minimal is design but beautiful in appearance. The foam pads at the bottom keep them from sliding across or scuffing up the counter top. They have a nice height and weight to them.

These walnut bookends are very nicely crafted and look high end. They are thicker at the bottom work well enough as long as there are a good number of books between the metal bases. If not packed pretty well, the books tend not to be held solidly enough to keep them from falling. The bookends are not as heavy as they look but have little foam pads on the underside of the metal to help stabilize them.
