I would say you get what you pay for with this product. They are perfectly fine for light use, or for easy studs, but when you need to pull tough or delicate studs, these will not do the job. The design is fundamentally similar to a double-nut arrangement where cranking on the tool pulls on the threads *axially*. This means the more you crank down the tool, the more it wants to strip the threads. meanwhile, if it's too loose, it ends up slipping and won't pull the stud.I ended up spending about 5x more for the Snap-On version of this set (MSKM10) which uses a "collet" design that *squeezes* on the threads radially as you crank it down. In other words, the tighter you make it, the *more* it protects the threads. I believe it's the only one of its kind, so I really had no choice, and I believe is the very best for pulling the head studs from an air-cooled 911 engine.Again - nothing wrong with this tool given the right expectations, but if you're planning to pull tough studs, and would like to preserve the threads, you really have to pay the bigger bucks for the right tool.

Better design and quality than the other I tried. I broke the other one with collet teeth.

Read the instruction provided! I was working on my 16 yr old 275k mile toyota sienna, i over tighten the thermostat housing bolt and it snapped... rather than get frustrated i searched to find solution... the broken bolt did not have enough thead on it.. i used a small vise grip.. turned it 1/8 at a time patiently. Now bought new bolts (decided to change all 3 and not just 1 broken one). Time to install and removed the 2 other bolts. This tool became handly on a very tight location. Patience is what you need to learn to use it and be careful. Quality for me is just fine, it did the work and it saved me money and time.
