This model is better quality than normal molcajetes because you can put it in the oven and the heat from the oven will not damage it. They are hand made and some have little extra things on them like a little partial face or tail of a pig and some don't. They come mixed in a batch directly from Mexico so we can't pick and choose. They are all round as pictured though. When it comes to guacamole Mexican's are the experts. You can not buy a Chinese made guacamole maker and expect an authentic taste or experience. This is made in mexico from the volcanic granite lava and according to mexican chefs every time you make food it it, a little bit of the stone taste gets mixed with the food which gives it the special authentic taste. This will make a great party show off piece as well as a great device for your kitchen to make authentic mexican foods.
